Best of "The Office"?
I'm trying to convince a friend to watch The Office and looking for a consensus of the two funniest episodes. Suggestions?
Also, I'm looking for something else to watch. I normally loathe sitcoms, so what might be similar to The Office? |
Diversity Day is my favorite. It shows how Michael is just all wrong to lead a group of people - hillarious episode IMO.
I enjoyed the one where he described how he "killed" a deer once. I forget the title of that episode, but the extended version of that scene is on the DVD and I was literally crying at how funny it was. |
I think Casino Night is their best episode, but you really have to know about Jim and Pam so that's probably not the best option for a new person.
I'll second Diversity Day, that's a good one. The Injury is also pretty hilarious, but it's helpful if you know something about Dwight, so maybe show that one second. The Client is good too, since it was the first time we really saw why Michael got the job he did. Plus the movie script stuff is awesome. |

Health Care is excellent. "Hot Dog Fingers, Count Choculitis" :) I second The Injury as well.
I find the Office to be similar to Arrested Development. All of the episodes are consistently funny. |
Without a doubt, THE INJURY from the second season. It would get my vote for the best episode of The Office ever.
|
"Basketball" - hands down from Season 1.
It's the one episode I can watch over and over again. |
Diversity Day
(The one with the deer is from season 2; Michael has to fire someone on Halloween and drags it out. The camera cuts to him where he says "Yeah I killed a deer once. I shot it in the leg, and had to kill it with a knife. It took about an hour... Why do you ask?") |

'The Injury' and 'The Dundies'.
|
I really like "Beach Games" and "Ben Franklin" from season 3.
|
Diversity Day sold me on this series and it has been my fav show every since!
Sexual Harrasment is good for it introduced his "that's what she said" that continues through the series. I also loved "Take your Daughter to Work Day" Classic Stanley stuff! |
There are so many it's too hard to pick a few, but here are mine. One from each season.
Season 1 - Diversity Day Season 2 - Office Olympics Season 3 - Gay Witch Hunt |

I liked the Prison Mike ep as well as Phyllis' wedding.

And, if you haven't watched the original BBC version of The Office, I highly reccomend it. I'm finally just getting around to finish season 2 and the holiday special. |
The Injury is filled with so much awesome.
|

|
Lets not forget Booze Cruise

Do not show a newbie Phyllis' wedding. It would totally turn them off. Michael is over the top not funny in that episode. |

Spoiler:
I would say "Diversity Day" followed by "The Injury" (or "Gay Witch Hunt") would be a good one-two punch. |
