FU Tbs!

For moving Seinfeld up an hour from 6pm ET to 5pm so I can no longer catch reruns when I get home from work. Just had to get that off my chest.

TGM 09-12-07 07:49 AM

join the new millenium, and get a tivo/dvr

I have one. I don't record Seinfeld though, nor do I buy the DVDs. It's my fav show of all time, and I seem to enjoy it more when I can just flip on the TV and there it is.

A true fan would understand this. ;)

I'd think you'd enjoy it more when you can FF the commercials? :)

TruGator 09-12-07 08:03 AM

I'm with Patrick on this one. I own 7 seasons of the show, but I looked forward to watching it at 6pm every weeknight. I had a routine and I hate change!

MrE 09-12-07 09:33 AM

A true fan would change his work hours. :eyebrow:

Rogue588 09-12-07 10:01 AM

Or how 'bout this one...

I used to have a thing where, immediately after Conan, i'd turn on WPIX to watch South Park. Now, since they've started showing Family Guy, South Park has been knocked back an hour and a half!?!?!

Funking manatees..

RUSF18 09-12-07 05:43 PM

Honestly, I'm more mad about this than I was about canceling Arrested Development. As Tru said, there was just something nice about coming home from work and knowing this would be on for an hour. If I DVR'd it, I'd never watch them.

7Keys 09-12-07 07:12 PM

You could watch three episodes in about 1:20 as opposed to the 2 in an hour on TBS if you buy the dvds. And no commercials, no edits, no logos, no on screen ads, etc.

Goldberg74 09-12-07 08:14 PM

But we have to give kudos to WGN for sliding Scrubs up from 10:30 PM to 10:00 PM!

Now I can watch the hour of Scrubs and get to bed by 11:00 PM!

DVDMagic 09-13-07 06:05 AM

Now if only the CW would switch 'Will & Grace' to 11 and move 'King of Queens' to 10pm, then all would be well in the world (at least mine anyway). 'KoQ' is a far superior show

Ayre 09-13-07 06:21 AM

I have to add my own FU to TBS.

Whats with putting commercials in the watermark. Nothing like 30 minutes of Family Guy with a TBS / TYLER PERRY NEW EPISODE watermark in the corner. I turned the channel and won't go back ... well until My Boys comes back.

dx23 09-13-07 06:22 AM

I thought the "FU" was all because of TBS airing Tyler Perry's House of Pain. I would have supported that "FU".

DRG 09-13-07 10:52 AM

I can't even watch 'live' tv anymore.

I agree, why waste an hour or half hour when you can whizz through the commercials on a Tivo or DVR.

Patrick G 09-13-07 12:57 PM

I hardly watch any live TV anymore either. However, this is different. When I get home from work, I don't have time to mess with the Tivo. I have 2 kids under 2 with whom to play/feed/clean up (both my wife and I work 7-4 M-F), and I really just want to be able to turn on the TV and watch/listen to Seinfeld while I'm doing all that stuff. And I would even go so far as saying the commercials are welcome breaks in viewing at that particular point in my day, with all I'm doing with the kiddies.

Quoted for Truth!

With DVDs, the only time I ever have ‘live’ TV on is when I’m on the computer & I want some background noise. Hell, I don’t even care what channel it’s on either. Half the time it’s the damn weather channel.

Plus, most episodes of sitcoms (which is the most common genre that’s syndicated) are hacked up, syndicated episodes & I enjoy the full, Original broadcast episodes of my shows. Of course, some DVDs have syndicated episodes.

I don’t have kids & I work nights (11pm-7am) so my schedule isn’t as hectic as Patrick G & I watch DVDs & drink my coffee for a couple of hours, before work.

Quake1028 09-14-07 10:51 AM

They recently moved King of Queens from 5-6 to 4-5. And the CW split up the old 10PM hour of King of Queens. Bastards, all of them.

My TiVo doesn't prevent me from watching commercials.

:)

Well, you can give Lionsgate a huge “FU”.

They’re releasing that garbage on DVD!...
http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Hou...-Volume-1/8065

Out of ALL the TV Shows that still need too be released/more season of, we get this?

I mean, would anyone actually buy this & be proud too own it as part of their DVD Collection?

Letterman 09-15-07 10:35 PM

I'm with ya about the time change. I hit the gym from 6-7 and used to watch Seinfeld while working out. It was part of my routine for the past three years or so. Now I watch Cash Cab on Discovery, which I'm sure they'll move to another time pretty soon to screw me over.
