The ultimate obscure TV show question ..

Years ago, I saw a TV show with a guest star who was extremely weird. He wore a half of a whiffle ball attached to his chin with a rubber band. What on earth was this show? Anyone recognize it?

I believe you are referring toi Fernwood 2Nite, the summer replacement for Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman.

Bah! Who needs Google when you were an adolescent insomniac in the 70s?

That would have been William W. D. 'Bud' Prize, Jr., or as he was known to his friends, William W. D. 'Bud' (played by the brilliant Kenneth Mars). That was an appliance designed to pull his chin back in, not unlike braces would pull-in/straighten teeth, and was made by his chin-a-dontist, Cletus Emmet Wheelwelker. William W. D. 'Bud' was a frequent guest on both Fernwood2night and America2night.

(Hope I got most of that right, I'm going off a 30 year old memory.)

I'm not surprised that someone knew the right answer. I'm surprised someone asked the question at 5 in the morning and had an answer by 7 in the morning.

Pretty impressive, especially considering "wiffle" was spelled wrong.
