Sam and Nicole, 'Beauty and the Geek 4'Will a Hooters waitress find a kindred soul in a guy who researches quasars? Will a software engineer benefit from his association with a theme park performer?
The nine pairs of "Beauty and the Geek" contestants have one more factor to figure into their social equation on the CW's upcoming fourth season of the hit reality show that will kick off with a two-hour premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
Competing against the partnered hot women and brainy men is another incongruous pair: a gorgeous guy and a geeky girl. Sam is a 26-year-old party promoter from Davis, Calif., who will be teamed up with Nicole, a 25-year-old Tufts University musicology grad student from San Francisco. This new couple will not only test the concept of book smarts versus social smarts, but also provide a gender-based twist to the formula.

Among the challenges the geeks will have to meet are performing an autobiographical rap and competing for the title of Prom King. The beauties will be taxed by participating in a debate and substitute teaching a third-grade class.
The winning team will share a $250,000 grand prize.
Last season saw major drama in the form of bikini model Cecille who was the only one who didn't embrace the social experiment aspect of the show, which eventually cost her the win when her own teammate Nate realized her shortcoming and campaigned against his own team. In a way, Nate's integrity was rewarded with an unexpected romance with housemate Jennylee.
Is there another showmance in the offing for this season's contestants? Besides Sam and Nicole, here are the other 18 contenders:

Thanks for the update mrpayroll. I am looking foreword to this coming back. It seems that they have brought back the true "beauties" & "Geeks" this season. The backwards couple seem interesting and I wonder how they are going to fit in.

So the backwards couple will be two contestants among the rest (the nerdy girl is 1 of the 9 "beauties", attractive guy considered a geek) that happen to get paired up? Or will they be established from the beginning?

I like this show a lot too, despite myself.
I'm surprised to see The CW starting the season with it though. I thought this was surely a mid-season/second half of the tv year kind of show. Either it does really well for them or they're really low on scripted shows this fall.

I would think the 'reversed' couple will have an unfair advantage in challenges... like the good-looking guy will have a much better chance in the 'talk to strange girls' type challenges, and the geeky girl would presumably not be as stupid in the 'figure out something hard' challenges they give the beauties. Unless the geek girl competes alongside the geek guys but just has a gender twist to her challenge, and the hunky dude competes alongside the beauties, etc.

Tonight was the season 4 premiere.
I was glad to see Tony get paired with Amanda (even without the ridiculous $8000 bolt-ons, she's easy on the eyes).
There are some good looking gals (vacuuous, though), and some seriously geeky guys.
The twist with the girl geek and guy "beauty" - have to wait and see (the guy isn't all that "hot" but the girl seems pretty acidic and sardonic in dismissing IQ level of the beauties).

That's because we didn't get much in team interaction yet. I would rather have a more random (pick names out of a hat) approach to team pairing than let the "dumbest" of the guys and gals do the picking.

I warmed up to Hollie after a while. But yeah, some of those beauties are just underwhelming upstairs. Of course, those guys are pretty socially inept as well, but I'm viewing from a male, geek perspective.

I reviewed the pairings again (was trying to watch the Big Brother finale at the same time, but failed as BB caught most of my attention as they announced the winner), and think I'll keep my eye on Erin and Katie as well. The pairing of Jasmine and Dave was so cruel. And too bad Luke didn't get Hollie as a partner.

It dawned on my that if these geeks got lucky with half the beauties, they would leave the house still not knowing what a real breast feels like....
