Hell's Kitchen Episode 9 (7/30/07)

We are now down to the home stretch.....I have to pull for Bonnie even though she's extremely inexperienced.

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
The three remaining chefs prepare fine-dining versions of classic American dishes for outside judges---their mothers, who don't know whose plates they're sampling. Then each contestant gets to run Hell's Kitchen during dinner service. They must watch for subtle traps set for them by sous chefs MaryAnn and Scott.

This show is the only reality TV that I watch, and while I do feel guilty about it, I also enjoy it more than most shows I watch!

It'll be interesting to see who gets the boot tonight, but my money is on Bonnie leaving. She's out of her league, and in order to keep the final a serious competition, they need to get rid of her.

Sweet Baby James 07-30-07 03:51 PM

All that I know is that Rocky Dennis(aka Jen) cannot win. You just cannot give the prize to someone that tried to serve food out of the freakin' garbage can!

"But it was already cooked and sitting on top!"

j123vt_99 07-30-07 08:47 PM

Why was Jen losing her mind? I mean I love my mom more than anything, but I mean, come on.. What have they been sequestered for like a month... and it's not like Big Brother where they can't have contact with the outside world

Superman07 07-30-07 09:10 PM

He had me. I seriously thought Rock got the boot! Then I was surprised to see Jen go. He didn't offer as much of an explanation at the end as he normally does.

This is my first time watching the end - do they normally bring everybody back? Should be a lot of fun next week. I'd like to see more than an hour, but I'm going to guess that is highly unlikely.

Yeah, they bring back all the rejects and each of the final 2 chefs gets half the rejects

WepaMan 07-30-07 09:25 PM

Which of course sets it up for possible sabotage. I never liked the fact that they bring them back... but I can't stop watching.

Michael Sheridan 07-30-07 09:29 PM

In all reality, Rock SHOULD kick Bonnie's ass....but there's always a catch.

ZakVTA 07-30-07 09:51 PM

Damn, I think the local news just spoiled the end for me. I was watching Simpsons and a commercial came up for the news after Hell's Kitchen and they said something about the winner of Hell's Kitchen
Spoiler:
Can SHE live up it?
Annoying.

Rock got a great edit in todays show...with the apology to Jen and tearing up when he found out he made it to the final. Rock will win this show. Mark the tape.

Well, if it makes you feel better, you can Google "Hells Kitchen" and find out the winner in 0.2 seconds. Apparently, there was an incident at Bodog where some insiders bet very heavily on one contestant before the show even started (enough to shut down the betting).

If you must know:
Spoiler:
it sounds like your local news got it wrong

In all reality, Bonnie should have never made it nearly that far.

ZakVTA 07-30-07 11:14 PM

I always felt that Chef Ramsay for some reason liked Bonnie more than the others.

Ozzy's Bat Head 07-31-07 01:49 AM

Actually, I think Chef was more connected to the ladies this season than normal (Julia, Jen, Bonnie). And yet, there has never been a doubt that this was Rock's season to lose. He is by far the best, even though 'they' have tried to surround him with plants and freaks.

Don't believe me? Well, ask yourself, in a worldwide contest of the best amateur chefs, how would you stack the pool? I'll let you decide; let's see, would you put in an elderly, hypochondriatic line chef with asmatha? No? How about a cook from waffle house? Still no? Well how about a 'nanny' that has only cooked for 4? Hmmm, must be random FOX magic!

Seriously, having said all that, I enjoy the show for what it is: just entertainment. Rock, I hope you do better with this prize than the other folks have.

Giantrobo 07-31-07 01:59 AM

I started watching the ep from last week then I said, "Screw it, I gotta get out of the house". I missed both eps.

I'm the last person on Earth without a TIVO/DVR -ohbfrank-

shanester 07-31-07 06:29 AM

Jen got the boot because she didn't catch the sabotage at the counter. No crab in the Spaghetti. Come on!! :thmbsdwn:

That's the last line of defense!!. You gotta be able to make sure what's on the plate is exactly perfect b4 it heads out to the customer.

Even Bonnie was able to do that

If you have ever seen any of the interaction between them on his other programs, coupled with how he runs his places (which I know you've seen a glimpse of - Hell's Kitchen), then I don't know how you can suggest he's put her this far without thinking she could do well given the opportunity.

Don't worry about that. I saw the story and it was about last year's winner, Heather West, who is doing very well.

Looks like 8 of them are back. I didn't see 'Little Eddie' and Aaron, 'The Fainting Guy'.

Wonder if Melissa will still have her soul patch...?

She will probably look like a member of ZZ Top by now.

But do you think he makes all the decisions?

The producers were probably thinking: 1) she's (relatively) eye candy which would drive ratings and 2) no one would ever expect her to get this far, so it'd be good TV to put her through, with everyone either rooting for her (the underdog) or rooting against her (because she shouldn't be there).

I'm sure the winner was picked from Day 1 and they're just trying to make good TV before crowning the winner.

nateman 07-31-07 09:25 AM

I don't know if it was the rite decision to vote of Jen or not but I still can't get over the fact that she took the Spaghetti out of the fucking garbage can & just rinsed it off with water & was going to serve it to a customer. I think in the end Ramsay [*Cough*]The Producers[*Cough*] made the rite decision by eliminating her from winning the resturant.

I don't know if I want Bonnie or Rock to win. I think if Rock wins the resturant will probally stay open for more then 3 months, due to the fact that Bonnie would probally burn the place down. If Rock wins, congrats to him but if Bonnie wins...
I want to be on her staff Damn it! . I actually think if Bonnie did win, she would be good at getting her staff to do the work because when they all had a turn at yelling at Ramsay before the dinner service, Bonnie did the best job in my opinion. I'd screw up all the time just so Bonnie could scream at me. Better yet she could have a punishment rule that states if you get yelled at more than 5 times, you get physically punished by her. Of course that topic will be brought up on my FOX cooking reality show, Perverted Kitchen.

Anyways, now that it's down to the final 2 I would rather have Rock win if he doesn't have anymore "Crazy Temper" moments. I would want Bonnie to win if she could just try to at least act alittle smarter & if she would hire me to work at her new restaurant :eyebrow: . I like when they bring back all the former contestants to cook for the 2 finalists. Comedy always ensues.

Superman07 07-31-07 09:32 AM

Given the way all have phrased things, then I have an issue with your attibuting things to Ramsay if indeed it is the "producers". <shrug>
