This should be in the DVDTalk forum & it's already been discussed.

Linky?

That is actually great news. With that release date, I should easily be able to get caught up before the S2 10/5 premier! Now why can other shows figure out that this is how you can get new viewers?!??!

^^^ Sorry, couldn't find the link. Plus now that I think of it, who the hell cares where this thread should be.
I agree, pricing a show at $20 bucks is a great way to get new viewers to watch the show & increasing the ratings when the next season premieres. I got the first 2 episodes of Dexter at Wal-Mart with the Zodiac DVD as part of a 2 DVD deal & now that I have seen the first 2 episodes, I'm hooked. I'll definitly be buying season one on Aug. 21st. I don't have showtime/HBO & it's a great way to get into a show that you wouldn't be able too see.
I think TV ON DVD really needs to be promoted better and lowering the price of alot of the new shows coming out on DVD is a great start. I'm the kind of person who would pick up season 1 of a show to try even if it might be a complete fucking shit fest, because I want too try the show. The major public doesn't think like I do though so thats why I think it's great that they are lowering the price for a show like FNL for people too try.

The whole purpose of lowering the price is to generate interest for broadcast viewing and generation of ad revenue. Sounds like it is directly related to this forum and redundancy, while not efficient, certainly reaches more people. I rarely visit the dvd forums and don't see that changing.

Good deal. Good post.

Thank you.
To be honest.. I don't go to that area of the forum either.. so I never thought to post it anywhere but here. Shrug.
And it probably should be posted in both places.. so if anyone cares to.. please do.
It's a great show and it deserves all the attention it can get.

Is there an HD version coming out, or just regular DVD? That's the only thing holding me back from ordering.

^^^ No HD plans at this point. Not that many shows are getting the HD DVD treatment yet.

With Berg's grainy pseudo documentary cinematography and the masturbating cameraman, this probably isn't the most ideal candidate for HD.

Who cares? If it originally aired on TV in HD, then I want it on HD in disc format too.

That's interesting.

I have to say, I didn't think I'd like this show, but I really do. I can't wait for the new season to start.

Hmm. You'd still have to pay the postage, but that's still not bad. Considering it'll be $19.99 at release, why spend the $6+ to send it back?

That article is crap. Not to be picky, but her name is MAGGIE Wheeler - not Janice Wheeler. Give the actress a break - don't pigeon-hole her with the Janice stimga any more than she'd already been branded!

You forgot the $5 instant rebate at BJ's - making it $13.99.
($5 off lasts until Sept 2 or 3)

GASP!!
I did not know that they were offering a 5$ rebate!! I was there today and didn't see anything posted.
I didn't buy one because my b-day is next week and I have a feeling I'll get my copy then.
But, at 14 bucks.. I should run back over there and get one just because it's 14 bucks!
