Didn't they offer the job to his son, Barney Stinson? :D

Numanoid 07-25-07 01:15 AM

Drew's a likeable chap, and will be a cordial host, while being able to adlib a quip here and there. Though I think he'll have to really restrain himself on doing what comes naturally, being a comedian. In time, he'll be regarded as just a game show host, and the new generations will have no idea that he was once a sitcom star. Kind of a sellout move, but if he does the job he'll have a steady paycheck (and a hefty one at that) for years and years, which I'm sure is a great deal of the appeal to him.

I think this generation has already forgotten he was a comedian.

Sadly true. And his sitcom was a damn_fine one, too.

Good choice IMHO, as long as they don't have Mimi as one of the models.

Maybe this will keep Drew in the public eye long enough to get the remaining 8 seasons of TDCS out on dvd.

rotfl rotfl rotfl As much as I love Carey, I probally won't watch the Price is Right everyday (Hardly watched it when Barker was hosting), but if Ramsay was hosting it 5 days a week-I would most definitely be tuning in. Talk about Comedy!!!
I'd love to hear Ramsay say...."The Price is wrong bitch!".

Indeed it was but sadly like most High Quality sitcoms/comedies, it gets cancelled or is watched by few. (i.e. Scrubs, Newsradio, etc...) & I don't think that many people will ever remember that Carey had his own sitcom after he finishes with the Price is Right.

:lol" thats what I'm hoping for as well, the WB will probally have on the back of the box..."Host of the Price is Right & Comedian Drew Carey" The sales for season 1 wern't steller so hopefully this will boost em' up enough for the rest of the seasons to be released.

Didn't read through all the pages, but will Drew also do his "inspirational putt"?

Got a big chuckle out of this TMZ news story:

TMZ has learned that Drew Carey was injured today on the set of "The Price is Right."

Sources on the set tell TMZ that today during rehearsals "Price's" new host got his arm caught in a game with some sort of rotating device. Wheel of misfortune!

Doesn't sound serious though -- we're told Carey was well enough to make his lunch appointment.

When we contacted his managers, all we were told was "He's fine and everything's OK." They had no additional info.

We've learned that Carey may see a doc this afternoon and could be back on the set later today.

One source told TMZ that Drew is back on the set, wearing a "soft cast." We're told a bruised bone is the diagnosis and he will return to see a specialist at a later date.

UPDATE: TMZ has learned that Drew got his arm caught in the revolving turntable on stage while rehearsing for the Grocery Game. While he was bruised up a bit, Carey is feeling wheely better. He's back at work joking around with crew members and even showing off his battle wounds on his iPhone! Come on down, Drew!

nateman 08-11-07 09:33 AM

^^^ On his Iphone? he's not a "everyman" anymore. He's a Apple Supporter! :grumble:

Seems like Drew has suffered an injury during filming "The Price Is Right". When the wall turned during the grocery game his arm got caught! LOL...Who knew that Bob Barker was enduring such danger during his 35 years hosting that show!!!!

More bad news, Drew Carey was hospitalized today after he tripped and impaled himself on the Plinko board.

If you need any proof that the show is popular with college students, look at the studio audience.

One of the gossip websites had pictures of his arms after the accident. Really nasty deep red gashes all over both arms; scary looking. Glad he was OK. I wouldn't have thought it was a dangerous job.

Just thought I'd bump this really quick. The first episode of the new season with Drew Carey is going to come on in about 8 minutes or so. I just happen to be home from work today since I worked Saturday, so I'm actually going to be able to give this a watch.

EDIT:

Here at the start with him coming out to his name being called out, I feel like I'm watching an episode of The Drew Carey show and this is just some sort of fantasy moment for him. I expect the picture to go all hazy in a minute and then have Drew wake up or something.

paulringodaman 10-15-07 10:09 AM

he seems awkward and is making a lot of mistakes......i will give him a couple of days to get prepared

Red Dog 10-15-07 10:25 AM

It's weird but today's contestants have been hilarious. Plus they had Cliffhanger!

Mr.Briggs 10-15-07 11:30 AM

Only got to see the first 2 games and then the last one + the showcase showdown. Fucking cable outage! I liked what I saw. He's a little green but that's to be expected.

2 Questions for those that saw Drew today:

Did he give props to Bob Barker? (I remember when Leno didn't mention Carson on his first show and what a mistake that was)

Did we get younger, sexier "Drew Damsels"? (to replace the old Barker Beauties?)

Barker wasn't really mentioned (Drew made a joke about the founder of the show Ezekiel Barker during the Barker's Bargain game.) However, it's worth pointing out that I doubt this was his "first show". I think it was just the first one that aired because it was a perfect show. They also kept the spade or neutered bit at the end.

Don't know about the beauties. I haven't really known any of them since the 3 that were there when I was a kid.

You mean Holly, Janice, and Dian?
