I watch this show, but I think I'm not enamored with it because I seldom feel much for the characters since the plot swings and changes are so fast and furious. So when stuff happens, I just brush it off, waiting for the next shoe to drop and seeing how it all plays out. I guess there's just not enough decompression of events for me, so all of these plot changes just lessen the impact on the characters for me.

I"ve watched the show every since it first started and I must admit it's gotten hokey as time has gone on. Every once in awhile you'll see some redemption and reason for it continuing.

I personally hope it does at least wrap up. I want to see what happens after this season finale.

Spoiler:
I'm glad Isabel finally died and they got the mark off Tom. I found it amusing that Sean's brother got the ability to kill everyone not promicen positive, while Sean has the healing abilities. Nice tragic happenings there.

This show writes some shitty stuff on occasion, but at least they remedy it within a few episodes.

Honestly the show hasn't been the same since Isabelle grew up over night. That is when this show "jumped the shark" in my opinion. So think up a mini-season that nicely resolves everything, please?

It could end now and I wouldn't care, I loved this show's first 2 seasons but it has been a chore to watch 3 and 4... Not sure I will be back for season 5 if there is one. It is sad how bad they let this slip while other series like Psych got better.

His ability was to spread promiacin like a virus. Thus, 50% of the people who became infected died, and 50% lived and had a power. Except for Diana Skouris who was immune.

I just watched the entire season over the course of the last week (DVR). It was OK though I’d be surprised if it lasts more than another year. The one thing I missed was the absence of Tom’s French wife (Alana).

As far as some wrapup episodes go, that would be nice but it could end just fine right where it is. Seattle is quarantined and everybody in it with the sole exception of Diana Skouris is promiacine positive (thus has an ability).

Now I just need to wrap up Heroes Season 1 (bought the DVDs), and the latest season of "Rescue Me" (DVR).

The 4400 Inquiry

I watched, I believe, the full first season of the 4400. I thought it was good and had some promise, but some of the characters and pacing could use some work. It's been a while so I could be a little rusty.

Anyway, I know this was cancelled by USA a while back, but it made it through (?) season 4. Were they allowed to wrap the series, or was it left dangling? I'd consider watching the remaining episodes, but I'm not sure I want to bother if there isn't an adequate conclusion.

Oh, and Billy Campbell was starting to act creepy. I like it better when he plays nice people.

My advice: cut your losses and move on.

I regularly watched all 4 seasons of The 4400, and though there were some ok moments there were far too many rotten ones. Lots of tired, lazy writing going on there...

The potential was just never reached. There is a vaguely open-ended "conclusion" of sorts, but it's not really worth the journey imo.

I thought the first 2 seasons were good, but struggled through season 3 and didn't even finish season 4....and I don't miss it at all.

I loved the first but followed everyone else's advice here and cut the cord. I think I saw one or two from season 2 and recall not liking them.

Now that's the kind of feedback I'm talking about. I will definitely cut my losses and read up on Wiki to see what, if anything, that I missed.

Yep. I'll back that. Stop where you are. It doesn't get to wrap up and the whole mess with Isabelle Tyler just launches the series into a blackhole from which it never escaped.

They were cancelled without resolving the show - though by the end of S4 I was unsure how they were ever really going to do it...

Sad because it started to pick up steam near the end of S4 with a real potential for some great conflict between, iirc, like 4 different factions (the marked, the 4400, the government, and Baldwin crossing lines).

Bring Back the 4400

One of my favorite shows of all time. There is a campaign to bring it back.

Re: The 4400 thread

It was pretty enjoyable at times and had a solid cast. NBC vaguely tried ripping it off with The Event.

I would be up for it. The last season of it got pretty uneven but I liked it overall.

Re: The 4400 thread

The whole series is available on Netflix. I agree the last season was kind of off, but I think there is still a lot more story to tell.

Same with me. I watched it when it originally aired. I disliked the fourth season too. I have seasons 1-3 on DVD, but have only watched each set once or twice. Maybe I'll rewatch some of season 4 on Netflix.

Re: The 4400 thread

A TV movie is much more likely if anything was going to happen with this revival. You would have to get the original producers on board and a couple of key cast members. That means more than any amount of signatures on a petition.

Re: The 4400 thread

I really enjoyed the first season, but could not make it through the second season as it was a complete letdown and was barely watchable by the middle of season 2.

I found the Australian zombie show "Glitch" to be similar in theme to The 4400 except instead of it being aliens kidnapping people from different time periods and transporting them into the future, you have people from different time periods who died and come back fully cured but with little to no knowledge about how they died. Much better show. This one had a bit of a decline in the second season but was still interesting to watch. The main cop in this one looks like a shorter Australian version of Ryan Reynolds.

That's an interesting choice of a reboot. I don't recall the show being super popular.

Re: The 4400 thread

I enjoyed it, even when it was baaaaaaaad.

I hope they find a spot for Garrett Dillahunt between his 5 roles on Deadwood.
