ATAS' Top 10 Comedy Series for 2006/07 Emmys

These episodes will be ranked by the judges 1 though 10 and this ranking will be averaged 50/50 with 1 through 10 of the popular vote to determine the 5 nominees.

In alphabetical order, the Comedy Series in the NBC lovefest -- I mean, in consideration this year are:

30 Rock ("Hard Ball")
Desperate Housewives ("It Takes Two")
Entourage ("One Day In The Valley")
Extras ("Daniel Radcliffe")
My Name is Earl ("Robbed A Stoner Blind")
The Office ("The Coup")
Scrubs ("My Musical")
Two and a Half Men ("Apologies for the Frivolity")
Ugly Betty ("Pilot")
Weeds ("Cooking With Jesus")

Nominations will be announced July 19. More as and when.

The whole premise of basing a nomination on 1 episode is beyond stupidity. Of course, the Emmys are guilty of this as well.

My nominations for Best Comedy based on the Emmy calendar would be:

The Office - winner
Ugly Betty
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Entourage
My Name is Earl

Agreed.

I'd vote for Scrubs ("My Musical") It was a great episode (still my favorite show currently) but 30 Rock & My Name is Earl are great shows too & this whole basing it on 1 episode is indeed very stupid & why Emmy awards don't have much credibility to me.
It's an insult (In my opinion) to have Two & a Half men on that list, but hey people seem to like it so watcha' gonna do? Same with Ugly Betty.

30 Rock. That episode was so good I want to take it behind a middle school and get it pregnant. Entourage was nice, too.

Yow. That is not the best episode of "The Office" from last season. I am beginning to think a repeat victory is not in the cards.

ANY of these episodes would have been better choices:

Gay Witch Hunt
A Benihana Christmas
Back from Vacation
The Negotiation
Product Recall
Women's Appreciation
Beach Games
The Job

Gay Witch Hunt would have secured a repeat victory, me thinks.

The COUP was definitely a poor choice.

Apparently the judges went nuts over 30 Rock and it's looking a great chance for a nom.

I agree that The Office chose poorly (I personally loved both "The Negotiation" and "Product Recall"), and the judges that have talked are saying they only put it 5 or 6 on their list. But it was still a funny ep, and the show will probably finish number 1 in the popular vote securing it's nomination. Once a show is nominated they can select 6 episodes for judging to determine the winner, so The Office still has a chance yet of securing that back-to-back win.

I still almost piss my pants whenever thinking about that part of the David Bowie episode.

Any episode of Extras could be nominated and I'd pick it as the winner in a heartbeat.

Weeds and Entourage are the only two that I really like.
