2007-08 Fall TV Season: Early News, Re-casting etc.
 

I thought it might be interesting to create a thread about some early news about the new fall TV season. Feel free to keep adding stuff to this.

Private Practice (ABC):

Merrin Dungey's character has been re-casted. She will be replaced my opera singer/actress Audra McDonald.

Moonlight aka CSI: Transylvania (CBS):

Apparently most of the original pilot cast has been replaced. Shannyn Sossamon, Jason Dohring and Sophia Myles have been added to the cast.

Life on Mars (ABC):

Jason O'Mara has been casted as the lead for the pilot.

Nip/Tuck (FX):

Joely Richardson (Julia) is back for 15 of the 22 episodes and she will get a hefty raise to almost $100,000 an episode.

Darn it! She was one of my favorite parts of the new series... this is putting a serious damper on the show for me...

OT nitpick: the past tense of "cast" is "cast" not "casted". I keep reading "casted" here and it is making my skin crawl.
It's just becoming one of my bugaboos. :)

I don't know if this would warrant a posting but It's rumoured that Bill Lawrence is going to bring back Aloma Wright to Scrubs for It's 7th & final season this fall but as a different character.

Merrin Dungey can't seem to get a break. She gets these reoccuring roles in various shows, but can't seem to hit on a regular one.

Whoa... any word on why FOX's show's are premiering almost a month later than normal?

I think it has to do with TBS taking the majority of the baseball postseason coverage. Hence, FOX is able to premiere their shows in the more traditional September start time.

Can't wait too see the US version of Kitchen Nightmares. The UK vr. was pretty good & it should be another entertaining Ramsay show.

Nice too see The Simpsons & King of the Hill starting early as well.

I thought it was obvious that Chyler Leigh was going to be regular on GA, especially to cause some conflict between McDreamy and Meredith since Chyler's character Lexie was flirting with McDreamy (without him knowing that she's Meredith's half-sister).

Good to see Kadee Strickland get some work after her quick stint on "The Wedding Bells". Compared to her previous photos from about 5 years ago, it appears that Kadee has finally grown into her looks, reminiscent of Shannon Tweed.

Some casting news for you House fans:

Wha??? I thought everyone getting canned/quitting was just a cliffhanger and everyone would be back. The change will be interesting, but I'm really going to miss Cameron.

I heard that Chase, Foreman and Cameron will return next season, but whether it's as regulars remains to be seen.
