Are BurgerKing's commercials disturbing or is it just me?
 

Has anyone else noticed a pattern to Burger King's recent commercial campaigns featuring the creepy guy dressed up as the burger 'king' with the plastic head mask?

Seeing this person in a commercial for food is bad enough since he looks like a serial killer but the new commercials for the Western Wopper where everyone, man, woman, child or animal gets his 70's porn-style mustache has hit a new level of stomach churning weirdness!

Is it effective for them to make people feel this way when they are advertising fast food?

I don't think they're disgusting, and I don't think it's just you...

I love their advertising. Better than the garbage that, say, McD's puts out. At least they're funny...but I'm sure there are many people who don't like the ads..but really, it's just a mascot...no different than the caveman thing or the old Mac tonight stuff McD pulled back in the 80's (which I heard a rumor may be coming back)...

Both Burger King and Jack in the Box have great ads. :up:

the worst one was the one when the guy opens the blinds and the Burger King is just there staring at him. I half expected it to turn into Scream

regardless, nothing is more disturbing than those Quiznos commercials with the little rat, hampster things

I think the little jig he's doing in front of the "western skyline" is a little unnerving. Otherwise it makes me laugh - especially when the bassett hound gets a big ole mustache. :lol:

The ad campaign is weird, but funny. The commercial that I thought was quite bizarre was the one where the King was up on a skyscraper that was under construction. He tried to knock a worker off of the beam by shaking it.

I do like the BK commercials, though I can understand why they may creep people out. I was a bit unnerved by the recent Wendy's commerical with everyone standing around kicking trees.. Maybe 'bizarre' is the direction ad agencies are moving towards these days.

the ad campaign is creepy.... except for the football commercials... but everything else is freddy krugerish

This is the same restaurant that gave us subserviant Chicken, so yeah, creepy & odd on purpose

To me the creepiest is when he was in bed with the guy....that was plain weird!

It's the King's world. We just live in it.

Not only are BK's ads ridiculously wierd, they're also very, very affective. Honestly, you remember the burgers and remember where to get the damn things. Great advertising.

They are just plain freaky. I agree that the one of The King in the window is the worst!

The one where they are all jumping on the bed...the King with all those people who look like rejects from the Village People...now that one's just not creepy, but it's down right gay.

And there is something wrong with it! :eek:

The King commercials are great, much better than the short lived "Coq Rock" campaign that they had.

I must admitt that up until recently I never went to burger king, but I go their more and more.

Playing Sneak King may be one of the funniest, most surreal game experiences I have ever had. The King as Stalker. Brilliant game idea. :)

I like all those King commercials, especially the NFL ones. My favorite is this one, when he starts dancing like Prime Time after scoring.
