Considering there was never an "official" launch day, we can't really know this is a delay (if there is one).

Where did the 9/19 date come from, anyways? Was never officially announced by DirecTV. Which is pretty much why I'm not gonna get my hopes up until there's an official announcement.

No, it came from a "leaked" memo from within DirecTV. CSRs didn't have a clue, and if they did, it was because they read it on DBSTalk.

Due to very high traffic, we are working to once again add more hardware to the sites operation. Until this is complete, some site features have been disabled and only registered members can access the site. Even with that the traffic flow still brings the site down we are sorry to say. We hope to have this resolved later today as we are currently working on hardware.

I just received an automated call from DirecTV saying that "they are very close" to launching additional HD channels, and it wanted to make sure I had the correct equipment specifically the BBC. No mention of how close is close.

New test channel is up on 498. Some people are seeing it, some aren't. It's just a slide (with no sound) indicating you are ready for the new channels.
If you don't see it, go to 72, then 73, then 74, then 498. Should fix the "glitch" that won't allow some to see it.

I haven't received the call. But I just had the service people out here a couple of weeks ago for the install in my new house.
And I am getting channel 498 in. Soon, soon, soon....
