re: DirecTV -- News and Updates
Nice to have Sundance. I had watched Rectify S1 on Netflix. Was going to watch S2 on Sundance but no HD, so I am waiting for that on Netflix. Hopefully that will be available before S3 is on Sundance.

Esquire, Game Show Network, and the NASA channel need to be in HD too.
I noticed lately Directv is flooded with 24 hour infomercial channels.

UPDATE 1-U.S. FTC targets DirecTV over advertised discount service
Wed, Mar 11 2015
(Adds details and comment from DirecTV)
By Elvina Nawaguna
WASHINGTON, March 11 (Reuters) - U.S. regulators on Wednesday filed a complaint against satellite television provider DirecTV for what they called deceptive advertising for a 12-month discounted service that did not make it clear consumers' costs would later rise.
The Federal Trade Commission said that the nation's largest provider of satellite TV services did not clearly disclose to customers that the discounted program required a two-year contract, and that prices could spike by as much as $45 per month in the second year.
Customers also were not clearly informed they could be charged a fee of up to $480 for cancelling before the end of the two-year period, according to the complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in San Francisco.
"DirecTV sought to lock customers into longer and more expensive contracts and premium packages that were not adequately disclosed," FTC Chairwoman Edith Ramirez said in a statement. "It's a bedrock principle that the key terms of an offer to a consumer must be clear and conspicuous, not hidden in fine print."
A spokesman for DirecTV said the charges are 'flat-out wrong' and that the company intends to vigorously fight them.
"We go above and beyond to ensure that every new customer receives all the information they need, multiple times, to make informed and intelligent decisions," DirecTV spokesman Robert Mercer said by email.
The FTC is seeking a court order to stop DirecTV from the "allegedly illegal conduct," and is also pursuing monetary compensation for affected customers of an undisclosed amount.
The company is already under review by the U.S. Justice Department and the Federal Communications Commission for a proposed $48 billion merger with telecommunications provider AT&T.
On its website, DirecTV describes itself as the world's most popular video service, with 26.3 million customers in the U.S. and Latin America. (Reporting by Elvina Nawaguna; Editing by Susan Heavey and Lisa Lambert)

That DirecTV response should read:
"We go above and beyond to ensure that every new customer receives all the information they need, multiple times, to make informed and intelligent decisions," DirecTV spokesman Robert Mercer said by email.

FUSE channel 339 after 9 years is finally in HD!
Too bad they are becoming less of a music channel and they should have done it earlier.

Add POP channel 273 in HD too and add the Epix Channels period.

Epix won't happen. From what I understand, they want too much money and Directv doesn't think their content justifies the cost. They made an offer to them in the past, but Directv turned them down.
Don't care about Pop (formerly TV Guide channel)

They need to add the HD feeds for channels 537-540 and 542 since it a crime that not all the channels in the Starz package are in HD.

re: DirecTV -- News and Updates
Yeah they also recently changed the tiers.
I used to be in Choice. I was apparently grandfathered into that when it changed to "Entertainment" and dropped channels including ESPN News and ESPN U.
I called to complain about my billing and how high it was and since I was out of contract it was time to
lower or cancel.
They lowered and added HBO, Shtime and Cinemax but "fixed" my tier.
Still don't get FXX, IFC, NBC Sports net, GSN or TWC in my tier.
Oh one more thing, shows that seem to be filmed almost completely in the dark really grind my gears.

Honestly, I can't think of any other channels left that aren't in HD that I would care about.
Pretty much every that I already watch is in HD. I would love it if CBS On demand posted their episodes in HD (it's in SD right now)

Nobody notices CBS on demand is not in HD since most of their viewers are collecting social security checks

Why the fuck isn't Chiller in HD?
Seems like 99% of their programming is in widescreen that ends up being windowboxed and looks like shit.

It is almost 2017 and chiller should be in HD.
CSPAN which I thought was a big network is still not in HD.
