I'm hoping that at least by next season they will. I know a representative at SpikeTV said their main reason for going HD was for UFC.

Hey, doesn't Spike still show Deep Space 9? It'd be cool if we got that in HD.

Edit: Just checked, and no HD for Spike, MTV or VH1. Hmm.

Usually it takes a couple days for the guide to get updated, I think. It seems all the new channels don't show HD programming in the guide right at first.

I think I read somewhere that by the end of next year, IIRC, Nick will be doing all of their new programming in HD.

Biography HD (266)

Launched today. Programming apparently sucks... a combo of stretched, zoomed, and cropped bullshit.

Isn't that part of the A&E/History Channel family?

We can't count the number of times we've gotten to work and remembered we forgot to schedule that night's American Idol football game to record on DirecTV, and wished we could do it using just our cell phone. Well, the satellite provider is adding the capability to do just that: with the DVR Scheduler (previously known as Remote Booking), you can log onto the mobile site at m.directv.com, and bounce a record signal from DirecTV's satellite down to your DVR in minutes. The soft launch has HR20-700 DVR models going live right about now, with more models and an official rollout scheduled for February. Even the venerable TiVo HR10-250 is scheduled to get this feature, and it's sure to be a big hit with commuters, travelers -- and the rest of us who don't properly set up our season pass recordings.
This is something that works pretty well with AT&T U-Verse. I'm surprised it has taken Directv this long (14 years) to make this standard. Good news for you guys!

In other news....DIRECTV is raising prices....effective 2/27.

Most packages jump by $3 a month.

The DIRECTV Choice package will cost $52.99, Choice Xtra will be priced at $57.99, Plus will run $62.99 and Plus HD will cost $72.99. Those packages contain the $3 increase.

The Premier package will cost $104.99, representing a $5 increase

I have DirecTV now (since Sept '07). I kept my 'location' the same as a reminder.

I had Directv from Nov of 1995 till Feb of 2005 and then I moved into an apartment that didn't allow dish's. I still feel a connection with them!

Maybe before they increase rates, they should get the so called HD channels airing things in HD! TBS, History, A&E, I'm looking at you!

Got to give DirecTV credit. They said they wouldn't raise the HD access fee. Instead, they circumvent that raise in prices and up the cost of all packages.

Which was pretty much stated shortly after the big push of HD. Everyone knew there'd be another tier, you'd have to pay more for. It was just that nobody knew what it was. I've seen nothing on MGMHD or UHD that would make me pony up more $$$ for it.

The only time I've ever watched UHD is during the Olympics. I'll probably get it just for August because they tend to air the more obscure Olympic events that I prefer in HD on UHD.

We should get CNBC HD by then, too.
