Okay, so the bottom line is I don't need a phone line in order to fully enjoy everything that Directv offers?
That is good news, because I don't want to have to go back to DSL and pay for a phone line that I never use.
Thanx for all of your help.

Hello, another question. Right now I'm with AT&T U-Verse but I will be cancelling soon as they have had MANY problems and do not offer PPV at the moment!
Regarding Directv, can I schedule a program to record over their website? Can I set Season Passes, etc?
Right now, I can set a current program to record on the AT&T Yahoo Web Remote and it will start recording within a minute or so. Can I do that with Directv since there doesn't seem to be a direct line connecting it to the DVR other than the satellite?
Thanx for all of your help, Chris

You can have "Season Pass" though, definitely.

I guess that's one advantage that AT&T has over Directv. Since they control what comes into your house, they are able to offer instantaneous web programming. That is one feature I will really miss. If there is breaking news I like to program it from work and then I can watch it when I get home.

And those channels Jeremy517 listed are in "Free Preview" until the middle of December, at which point you'll start paying for them if you want 'em.

Sweet! My local FSN finally in HD. All the other channels are Viacom, right? It appears so far at least that they aren't stretching things out and making it look like crap.

Oh man, more HD channels to dive into! I just got the newest model DirecTV HD DVR last week, and I've been recording HD movies all week. Now even more channels to play with. I can never go back to SD.

I wonder if we'll get TUF in HD on Spike now. My guess, is probably not.
