Heartland "Series Premiere"--"Pilot" 6/18/07

Who's going to give this show a shot? Another medical drama doesn't sound appealing, but I think this actually looks decent. Big fan of Treat Williams and I like the supporting cast as well.

Series premiere synopsis:

Spoiler:
Dr. Grant tries to save the life of a teenage girl in need of a new heart; Kate tries to convince a grieving grandmother to donate her grandson's organs.

Credits: Treat Williams, Kari Matchett, Rockmond Dunbar, Chris William Martin, Morena Baccarin

Written and Directed by David Hollander

Heartland (TNT) - Series Premiere - 6/18/07

Did anyone else watch this? It premiered after The Closer but search did not pull up a thread.

I finally watched my recording. It was pretty dullsville.

I love Treat Williams, but he is almost playing the same character he did in Everwood, but without the good writing. This time he is a heart surgeon. His estranged wife (played by the creepy Invasion/Studio 60 blond chick) is an organ donor coordinator. She is badly miscast here, because if she ever asked me for my loved ones organs, I would probably tell her no also.

The production values of the show looked really cheap and the dialogue was clunky as hell, what with all the heart metaphors. I nearly vomited when creepy blond chick told Dr. Brown "I'll take my heart elsewhere." UGH.

I don't think I'll watch again, this is as bad as Saved.

Finally watched the pilot last night. My DVR cut off at the end because nothing was mentioned about the episode running long.

I thought the pilot was good. It was a good introduction to all the characters. Looking forward to episode 2 when Rockmond Dunbar (C-Note from Prison Break) is introduced. He's suppose to butt heads with Treat's character.

Yes, the show does look a little on the cheap end. It's shot entirely in LA and from what I understand the production company Warner Horizon is in the business of producing lower budget cable series.

It's something for me to watch after The Closer.
