The Closer "Season Premiere"--"Homewrecker" 6/18/07 on TNT

Not sure how many fans of "The Closer" are here, but I really like this show and I'm happy to see Kyra and company back for another summer.

Season Premiere synopsis:

Spoiler:
The team investigates the murder of a family; budget cuts force Brenda to choose between giving up one of her team to another unit or force one of them into early retirement.

Just caught up with The Closer over the summer so far (or spring, I guess), and watched the two hour season two closer yesterday. I am ready for the start of season three!

Nice... this is one of those shows that I don't find myself eagerly awaiting the premiere, and yet love and watch intently whenever it's on.

So I was waiting and waiting for a commercial. They did have at least one break - no? It was kind of funny because I'd just watched the premier of The 4400 which seemed to have a commerical break every five minutes.

Great episode. I hope we get to see more Fritz this season. He is a great character and seemed to have fallen to the wayside last season. Interesting angle that Sgt. Gabriel proposed to Pope. The way the proposal is set up, it sounds like some of the episodes could now branch out from cut-and-dry priority homicade to include national security/terrorist threats. How much you want to bet that Deputy Chief Johnson volunteers her expertise to some of those cases her staff will inevitably get pulled away for so that they can get that wrapped up and back into her office? Has many cool possibilities...

Also nice to see "Beaver Casablancas" Eric Dean Wallace be the victim instead of the killer - of course he still had the gay thing going on...

Wow!!
For a cable show, the ratings for the premiere were absolutely amazing! 8.8M viewers and 6.3M households.

Great episode and it was even better commercial-free!!

Kyra was at the top of her game as usual. I too would like to see more of Fritz this season other than having him have morning coffee with Brenda.

It was nice to see Lt. Tau again after his brief foray on the failed "Smith." Like others have said, I don't really look forward to the show but once the season starts I find myself enjoying it more than most of the higher profile network shows I aimlessly watch.
