The Price is Right **Bob Barker's Final Episode** 6/15/07

The end of an era. Can't imagine TPIR let alone daytime television w/o the legend himself.

For those who miss it in the daytime, CBS will be reairing it at 8 pm ET Friday night.

I'm crossing my fingers for the following games: Golden Road, Hit Me, 10 Chances, Hole-in-2, and Cliffhanger.

I'm sure they'll have Plinko, but that's overrated.

Very. I hate it. No skill or brains required at all (the crap before doesn't count).

Maybe Bob will screw with the viewers by having the screen go black just before announcing the winner of the showcase showdown.

And we'll all have to figure out and speculate - Did Bob die of old age, or is it showing that we, the viewers, died from watching too much Price is Right. Or maybe it means that the game show will be played forever, and it just won't be televised anymore... Oh, the questions.

According to CBS, the 8pm airing will have an extra segment at the end of the show (not seen on the daytime broadcast), leading into the Daytime Emmys.

Then we could read the reviews by the artsy-fartsy crowd and have explained to us the true meaning of the Price is Right and how that is the only sensible ending for this show.

It's going to be so weird watching TPiR without Bob. I'll definitely be watching. It just won't be the same anymore.

They played Golden Road a couple days ago so I doubt it'll show up on the finale too. Plinko is a sure bet (though I hate it too). I'd like to see the Shell Game, Cliffhanger, Pass The Buck, Range Game & Blank Check (just to see him frustrated once again by someone who's "watched the game all their life but doesn't know how to play").

They should take a page from the primetime versions & if a person gets a $1 on the wheel twice win a $Million instead of $10K.

Probably the press conference that took place immediately following the taping.

The golf game is a lock to be on there. BTW, any word on who the replacement is?

They played Hole in one (or TWO!) earlier this week.

The odds on favorite out of three finalists is George Hamilton, although there are some rumors spreading that John O'Hurley (J. Peterman from Seinfeld; current Family Feud host), has been asked back for more trials.

I believe the same production company owns TPIR and Family Feud, so if O'Hurley is the best man for the job, the logical choice would be to pull him from the Feud and send it back into retirement.

Either way, I hope O'Hurley or Hamilton get the job.

That would suck. He's been doing the best job hosting that show since Ray Combs.

I think that's why people like Plinko. On other games, if you make a bad decision, you lose a car and spend the rest of your life kicking yourself. With Plinko, there is no such pressure. You just drop the chip and hope it takes a lucky bounce into the big money slot.

Great! I've been planning on recording this for months, but forgot before I left this morning.

You know the producers are in a charitable mood when they make the last number a '5' in Lucky 7.

This is in no way a threadcrap, but I'm astonished there's this many people posting in a Price Is Right thread. I'm actually astonished there's a Price Is Right thread at all, to be honest. I haven't seen the show in probably 20 years, and I didn't even realize it was still on.

I guess it really is the end of an era.

Plinko was borring once again, and the producers did their best to give the contestant 5 chips. Those were very easy prizes to guess.

At this point, I'm wondering if we're going to have a 'perfect show'. 3 for 3 so far.

How do you figure - 3 for 3?

The woman didn't hit the center of the Plinko board at all.

That doesn't count as a win. That's like getting the 2nd prize in the Any Number Game or 1 out of 4 in the Race Game.
