Wow. . .big changes. I like the new male addition, though.

Julie Bowen, Mark Valley, Rene Auberjonois and Constance Zimmer have all been let go from the show, sources tell me. ABC and David E. Kelley Productions declined comment, but a Legal insider confirms that "their contract options were not picked up."

To fill the void, Night Court's John Larroquette is joining the show as a series regular next season, but he won't be reprising his Emmy-winning role from Kelley's The Practice. Instead, he will be playing an attorney from the New York offices of CP&S. Also Dirt's Tara Summers will be coming on board as a young associate. Finally, current cast member Christian Clemenson (Jerry) has been upped to series regular.

Phew, that's a whole lot of change for one TV show. Thoughts on the big revamp, Legal fans?

I had a feeling Constance was going - they didn't use her much towards the end of the season.

I never cared much for Julie Bowen - the actress or the character.

I'll miss Mark Valley and Rene Auberjenonois.

John Larroquette should be a great addition. That's a pretty heavy hitting cast between the Big-3 and John. They should just take the Dan Fielding character from Night Court - that would fit in perfectly.

I wish Rhona Mitra was brought back. So fucking hot.

I'm glad that Jerry is going to be a regular. His purring and hop makes me laugh every time.

I know a lot of people don't care for Jerry, but I thought he was one of the better parts of a lackluster S3, so I agree.

Wow, I was shocked when I saw who was gone; however, John Larroquette, is an excellent addition, and at the end of the day, we all know people watch this show for two reasons anyway: Spader and Shatner.

Sad about Rene and Constance; couldn't care less about Bowen and Valley.

Mark Valley was wasted on this show. Hopefully, someone will snatch him up and give him something worthwhile to do.

They should cast him on Eureka as Colin Ferguson's brother. Those guys could be twins!

Poor David E. Kelly. First the Practice, not these cuts.

Honestly, given this show's origin, massive cast upheaval should be expected and even celebrated. They should end every year with a riot, a bomb, a plane crash, or whatever, leaving the viewers to wonder who is out and who they'll bring in.

Awwww, poor Clarence aka Clarice. Now that his GF is gone, looks like we'll be seeing more Clarice next season.

I actually liked Denise and was looking forward to seeing her and Brad interact more as husband and wife in the office.

Am I the only one wishing for a Candace Bergen firing? She is the reason I stopped watching the show in Season 2. I don't know why she gets on my nerves.

PS: I am going to start watching the show again. I just bought Season 2 and will buy 3.

Like he wasn't a regular already? He was written into almost every other show -- even when he wasn't in the firm he seemed to be represented by the firm or up against them.

Love the Larroquette addition. He was amazing on The Practice, but obviously couldn't reprise a serial killer role on the show.

Too bad about Rene. He's great and couldn't be costing the show too much in salary. He was the emotional center and the voice of reason (along with Bergen). I'll miss him.

The rest, I don't mind seeing gone.

Fast turnover is usually a good thing in a David Kelley show--it gives the writers something to do and distracts from the hollow center where the show's soul should be.

Sucks about Rene and Constance, don't really care either way about Julie. I like Mark Valley, but since they barely gave his character anything to do, it's hard to be that concerned about him leaving.

I like the additions (though as others have said, Jerry was pretty much a main character by the end of the season anyway).

Not really too surprised. This show is constantly introducing new characters and changing them up. Valley and Bowen, considering they just had a baby and got married, it's pretty easy for them to leave. Zimmer hardly did anything once Jeffrey Coho left, so the only kinda surprise is Auberjenonois. He was on from episode one, but really didn't do a whole lot.

This really is the Alan and Denny show anyway. Rest of the cast is pretty replaceable, though. Still sad to see them go.

When Valley was given a chance to shine on the show, he grabbed it and ran w/ it. "I'm practically a Navy SEAL!" I hope the pilot he's doing for NBC (?) is top notch and gets picked up.

Not really going to miss anyone else, even though I am a fan of Bowen.

Larroquette will be an awesome addition.

Kind of sucks that Rene Auberjonois is gone. His character was great at playing the reasonable side and in the process increasing the humor.

Definitely glad to see Mark Valley and Julie Bowen gone just for the sole purpose of not having suffer through the whole married couple and child aspect that doesn't fit at all with the show.

Nope it didn't get picked up. Valley is unemployed right now.

I think DEK knows Clarence and Hands make for a good team and that shouldn't be broken up just yet.

The only one I'm sad to see go is Rene, but none of those characters were ever really given anything to do.
