I see a lot of hate, and a lot of defending it as well, so I'm just wondering what the overall consensus is.

I thought it was good, but not great. I was glad to be able to revisit some of the characters one last time to wrap some things up, but "The Blue Comet" was the better of the last two episodes. That was just so goddamn intense it would have taken A LOT to top it. That being said I appreciated what Chase was saying with the final episode and I felt it was a worthy end to one of the best shows on television.

Initial reaction: Good but not great.
Long term reaction: Assuming they never cash-in and do a movie or some other form of continuation, I honestly believe that this will eventually be seen as one of the best finales EVER.
People hated The Prisoner finale when it first aired, Twin Peaks got cancelled, The Wizard of Oz and Blade Runner failed at the box office, etc., etc. Some great things aren't appriciated until years later.

Good but not great. There's a lot of good stuff in there, particularly the "Made in America" theme and the wonderful editing and choice of music for the closing moments, but it also meanders around quite a bit for a finale, and the execution of the ultimate conclusion (not the conclusion itself) is a little too "look at what I did!" for my tastes.

I had no problem with the final 10 minutes, as I thought they were pretty decent. It was all the useless shit up to that point (with the exception of Phil getting killed) that really soiled it for me.

SEINFELD was worse series finale.
like tcoursen said it will probally be the most up to date "Worst series finale" until the LOST series finale comes.
Oh wait nevermind it could & I hope to hell it isn't but Scrubs maybe might have a horrible finale, It's still the best show on television but finales can be tricky esp. for highly praised genius shows like Scrubs.
