FOX RAMPS UP 'LOOP' BURN OFF
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX has bumped up the return date of "The Loop" and plans to burn off all 10 episodes from its second season in just 27 days.

Things kick off on Tuesday, June 5 at 8:30/7:30c followed by airings on Sundays at 8:30/7:30c and 9:30/8:30c on June 10, June 17, June 24 and July 1. An additional installment is slated for Tuesday, June 12 at 8:30/7:30c.

Following said airings, "'Til Death" repeats will assume the Tuesday, 8:30/7:30c slot on June 19 while "American Dad" repeats will plug the 8:30/7:30c and 9:30/8:30c slots on Sunday nights starting July 15. (A repeat of the feature "The Lost World: Jurassic Park 2" pre-empts the network's entire Sunday lineup on July 8.)

While "The Loop" didn't make the cut for the 2007-2008 season, co-star Bret Harrison can be found as the lead on the CW's new drama "Reaper."

I didn't want this to get lost in an existing Loop thread.

Sweet! Don't forget to bump it when it comes time for it to air.

Jimmy James 05-25-07 04:35 PM

Why on Earth does Fox renew shows just to kill them? How does that make sense?

I'll check it out because what I saw of season one had some promise.

clckworang 05-25-07 09:05 PM

This was a fun show last season. Looking forward to it coming back.

Fox are a bunch of jackrammers, but at least they ordered these 10 eps...i can't wait! I'll take some 'loop' over none.

Matthew Chmiel 05-26-07 07:09 PM

Fuck FOX.

They created two of the greatest American sitcoms of the past few years -- Arrested Development and this show -- just to cancel them shortly afterwards.

Arrrrgh.

As a result of the change, FOX will shift "The Loop's" previously announced Tuesday airings (June 5 and June 12) to Sundays at 7:30/6:30c on June 24 and July 1. The news means that "The Loop" will air at 7:30/6:30c, 8:30/7:30c and 9:30/8:30c on said nights. (Regular 7:30/6:30c occupant "King of the Hill" then will move to 7:00/6:00c on those two nights.)

I just added it back to my TiVo, but I have a feeling that the schedule will change yet again (this is the second update about the show's placement in a week).

Seriously, with the way Fox has been dicking around this show for the past year or two, they should just burn off the episodes over 2-3 nights and be done with it (similar to how the final episodes of Arrested Development were treated). I know they at least have the decency to air the final episodes, but seriously. The show was cancelled, the cast and crew have moved on, let's just air the final episodes for the twelve of us who actually watched it the first time around and be done with it.

Bumped because it's airing tonight (2 episodes 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. EDT).

(Ooops, didn't see new thread started for tonight's episodes before posting this post.)

Wow that girl has a tremendous rack

the guy in the elevator is pretty funny.. was he on last season?

pretty 'risque' language for an 8:30pm EST show. not that i'm complaining

Gawd, loving the addition of Diora Baird to the cast.

I love this first episode. Darcy's R2D2 was hilarious. Funny stuff.

You sure that's her? (had to look up who she is). Don't see it mentioned on IMDB

Patman 06-10-07 08:07 PM

Yes, that's her, it listed her in the end credits, plus I'd recognize that sumptuous rack anywhere...

MechanicalMan 06-10-07 08:09 PM

This was the first episode that I've seen. That chick is super hot, but this show is not funny.

Snowmaker 06-10-07 08:11 PM

I caught the last 4 minutes and said SHIT!

Luckily there is another at 9:30.

Patman 06-10-07 08:20 PM

Just hearing Philip Baker Hall yell "Thesis!" produced a chuckle out of me. It's good to see these episode being aired, even though it's a lame duck show.

Patman 06-10-07 09:07 PM

Sam hopped up on steroid - at least Bret Harrison commits totally to the scenes, he was out of control with those roid-rage moments.

It only took them 2 episode to get Diora into a bikini. :)

What happened to the two female roommates from last season?

They moved in with Chuck Cunningham and the aunt from Family Matters.

its funny they show they work at the nahcock building and when i look at the view from the meeting room its totally askew. i might be the only one to recognize that since my dad worked in the hancock building.

Patman 06-10-07 10:32 PM

Who knew MGM Drive was in Chicago? :D

mrpayroll 06-10-07 11:01 PM

Nip slip!

Gizmo 06-10-07 11:08 PM

Oh man, I love this show.

BDB 06-11-07 12:04 AM

I noticed the MGM drive as well, but loved the episodes, the first one more than the 2nd.
The addition of Derek was great. but I miss the other room mate, not the blonde.
