I really don't think much needs to be said, Jordin wins by a landslide. I don't think this was the worst finale ever....That honor goes to season 3 with Fantasia and Diana DeGarmo. Fantasia IMO was the most unlikeable Idol winner. I think Jordin is cute and bubbly and should appeal to the teen-young adult audience. Will she sell 1 million records? Probably not....but we'll see.

Another season with Idol limping in...
I enjoy this show, and look forward to it in January, but I am quite pleased to see it go away by May just as much. I like Blake, but it would have been a more entertaining and closer finale if it was Joran v Melinda. |

Matlin can see the performances and everything else and with signer in tow she can essentially "hear" the judges comments. So she misses out on the sounds. Doesn't mean she can't witness and enjoy the environment. There's not an aid in existence that would enable Ray Charles to experience an Indy race like Matlin experienced AI. |

Ok, I just went to the official Idol website and I saw all the finalists for the songwriting "contest". Based on just the titles of the songs alone, they all looked pretty crappy. A big pile of crap. The best song title was "Love Me Til The Lonely's Gone" (only because I couldn't stop laughing). Although, I think I may now have the perfect pick-up line.
Every finalist's song title was something from Diane Warren's Big Book of Cliches, like "Forever Starts Today" or "Right Here With Me". So just be lucky that we got the best of the worst. |

Jordin Sparks = Diana Degarmo
Melinda Doolittle = Latoya London Blake Lewis = Jon Peter Lewis I think this year AI finally struck out. I predict that none of the top three (or top 10 for that matter) will sell many CDs but much depends on the songs. This year the winner is the only one who will have any shot at all - and that's just because they won which seems to guarantee at least some sales. |
Well, Jordin should win it. Like Carrie and Kelly, she made the most out of the original song. Blake entertained on the first song only. Besides, Simon called it. Randy sort of backed him up and like usual, Paula just sits on the fence. Rant: Gawd, I think America wouldn't miss Paul and Randy as judges. They're so useless as judges.
Jordin has to emote more. She was phoning it in with "Fighter." Melinda would have done it better. I was hoping Jordin would kick the mic stand at least but no. Boring singers overall this season. |
All the slamming on that song last night makes me wonder if people truly enjoy any stuff that sounds like that? I mean, Warren songs don't sound any better to me. I can't stand pretty much any of those tunes from ALL AI seasons. But I still watch for the competition aspect and want Jordin to bury Blake after last night.

The local Good Day LA crew ( Steve Edwards, Dorothy Lucey & Jillian Reynolds ( Barberie ) is doing a red carpet special before the show tonight. Is it national or is it just local ?
|
Kelly Clarkson rocked it with her new single "Never Again".
Gwen Stefani's song wasn't too good, though. |
That Kelly Clarkson song was terrible! I usually (secretly) like her singles.
|
Kelly's new album is supposedly more pissed off sounding and harder/edgier, and Clive Davis pleaded with her not to release it. :D
|
Jordin is so f-ing fake... blech.
|
Now why couldn't they have let Blake do that last night so he could have received more votes.
|
Tony Bennett was great, just great...
Come to think of it, Tony and Smokey both looked a bit "refreshed" especially Smokey. |

Jordins mom is hotter than her.

Loved Kelly's perfomance, but now my disdain for Jordin is just growing out of control and it is just getting hard to watch. Pretending this is a toss up is kind of hard on the nerves. I am going to need lots more Sanjaya and Blake and Doug E Fresh to finish this thing out.
|
I am only half paying attention to this show, and I could have sworn that they introduced Steve Perry to play with Sanjaya. I was wondering what the hell the ex lead singer of Journey was doing on the show

Bette Midler. AI really knows their demographic. Click.

even the stars suck tonight
bette midler sounded worse than Haley |
