Doesn't Homer already have a job?

Jason 04-29-07 08:41 PM

Did anybody even bother to watch?

Come on, this is like the 33rd season

Homers had a million jobs

Snowmaker 04-29-07 09:23 PM

I saw like the last 10 minutes. Seemed pretty bad.

Ranger 04-29-07 09:34 PM

It is odd. I wish Homer would stick around at the plant. The old stuff with him, Mr. Burns, and Smithers were great. Although the Sprawl-Mart episode was good.

This episode was ok but the ending was terrible.

calhoun07 04-29-07 10:14 PM

This season has been pretty good so far, but this was the weakest episode in a while.

bunkaroo 04-29-07 10:41 PM

Another weak episode.

BTW, I just caught the episode in a rerun where Homer has the repressed memory about finding the body in the drainpipe and he can't stop screaming. That was a very funny episode, and it's only 5-6 years old. I don't know what happened between then and now...new writers?

MrX 04-29-07 10:48 PM

By far the worst episode of the season

LorenzoL 04-30-07 05:09 AM

The whole baseball thing with Bart was tedious and unfunny to say the least. Not a good episode.

Chew 04-30-07 06:28 AM

Not to pile on, but this was a pretty unfunny episode.

I could really use the return of Sideshow Bob right about now. :)

slop101 04-30-07 10:09 AM

Why would they return the mattress to Homer's house, and not the store?

When you notice things like that, it means that there wasn't enough funny going on.

MrE 04-30-07 11:25 AM

At this rate they'll get to episode 400 with a great big "SO WHAT?"

Brent L 04-30-07 03:00 PM

You guys can be so hard on this show. I mean, come on:

i thought the j. giles band joke with bart taking down the posters was hilarious. Second time there's been a J. Giles joke on the show (crazy texan wanting to write a musical about them)
Lenny's mystery novel was pretty funny too "The Murderer Did it"

ScandalUMD 04-30-07 04:52 PM

The Steve Bartman joke with Homer was really, really funny.

That's astounding, because everyone is absolutely convinced that everything after season 7 is junk.

Then again, I remember reading usenet reviews of season two episodes that were scathing because the show "lost its heart".

Season two was a lot different than season one, so I could see how someone who really liked the first episodes would think this. However, I think the show found it's heart after the first 13 crude episodes.

For me the show started feeling weak around season 10. The thing is that there are still a few gems every season. I do wish they would retire this show however.

I didn't hate the episode. Pretty much standard fare for a Simpsons.
