I think it's funny that most of us who complain about shows getting canned probably don't even own a Nielsen Box.

Tim Minear set the 13-episode season up to have a conclusion, much the same way he did for Wonderfalls. So, yeah, there would be a conclusion, with enough openings that the show could continue if renewed.

There would be a conclusion in the 13-episode arc, but they only filmed 6 episodes. So the only way the story would have a conclusion on an eventual DVD set is if they including the final seven scripts on the set.

My girlfriend was all excited about this show, and would plan her schedule around it. I told her I wasn't going to bother, and not to get too worked up about it, but FOX would end up cancelling it.

I didn't really think it would be this quickly, though.

zoom1200 04-29-07 01:49 AM

freakin figures, I just started to get into the show..

Original Desmond 04-29-07 04:42 AM

damm i downloaded the 4 eps, haven't watched em yet, won't bother now. I still miss Smith, Justice, Threshold and Angel dammit !

The Cow 04-29-07 05:10 AM

was predicted sadly...

FOX have screwed themselves. Why would anyone watch a new FOX serial show at this point?

Is there a petition we can sign to get this show back??

ivelostr2 04-29-07 03:50 PM

now im pissed, i missed the 3rd episode, so i watched it online, which crashed my cpu and i have to buy a new hard drive for it now, and then it is canceled...fox can lick my unwashed balls...

Eh...they only had two episodes left to burn anyway (only six hours were actually filmed). Better to pull it now and reap the "Includes 2 never before seen episodes!" on an upcoming DVD release.

Watched the premiere and enjoyed it, but haven't watched the others. Guess I won't bother now. I need the extra space on my DVR anyway ...

And why don't you wash your balls, ivelostr2? You know, you really should.

If Fox bothers. Still no word on Minear's The Inside, right?

Bill Geiger 04-29-07 06:45 PM

I still have all the shows on my DVR...might just delete.

Slayer2005 04-29-07 07:34 PM

Fox is the worst EVER! They expect everything to be a huge hit right out of the gate it seems. They giving nothing a chance to grow. Also, it might have helped if the promos didn't suck.

jonw9 04-29-07 08:44 PM

I wouldn't say it was great, but it was SOMETHING to watch on Mondays.

I was wondering why I couldn't find it when I tried to add it to my new dish DVR que. :(

I thought the word on The Inside was that they weren't going to bother.

Maybe they'll reconsider now that they can offer a Drive/The Inside two pack.

it's sunday...

DeputyDave 04-30-07 12:26 AM

Crap! It was the only thing I had to look forward to on Monday night. I guess I'll make it an extended movie night.

valkyrie 04-30-07 02:29 AM

I called this after those horrid previews, but only 4 episodes?! Wow...I'm honestly starting to think Firefly had a fair shot (and that's not saying much!)

Lone Wolf 04-30-07 08:49 AM

I guess I should go erase the unwatched episodes off of my dvr.

MrE 04-30-07 11:31 AM

Maybe they should let the shows run -- preferably when scheduled -- and yank a few Fox execs. What a pathetic excuse for a network.

SBrooks1 04-30-07 11:36 AM

Nathan Fillon is a B-list actor who couldn't carry a show if he tried. Firefly was horrible and Drive was no exception. Maybe Nathan's agent can get him some commercials to star in.

-ohbfrank-

I seriously think you'd have to be souless to think Firefly was horrible, well I mean if I believed in souls anyway.

:whofart: ** Too stunned to reply **

According to Drive's official site, the two remaining episodes will air back-to-back on July 4th.

MrE 05-08-07 11:38 AM

Don't be stunned ... :goodbye: just wave the idiots on by.

Thanks for the small bit of good news.

I thought twelve episodes were filmed? With six airing now and then the other six airing later this summer?

firteen88 05-08-07 11:55 AM

I hope the ratings are great for the final 2 and fox kicks themselves in the ass

They ordered 13 episodes, but only 6 were filmed. So the two airing on July 4 will do it for the series.

boc4ever 05-09-07 07:59 AM

I usually enjoy thought provoking tv, but once in a while I like to get lost in mindless entertainment. Drive did that for me. I really dug Fastlane and got mocked for it, but didn't care...

wildman1037 05-09-07 08:15 AM

I just don't get network's nowadays. Don't they realize that there are other stations out there that are airing shows also. Not EVERY show can pull in American-Idol like numbers!

All I ask for is 7 original nights of programming. Re-airing shows like Grey's Anatomy and House on different nights in the same week is tiresome....

Chew 05-09-07 08:21 AM

Yes, but when you have the TiVo tuner capacity for 3 shows and there's 4 on you want to watch, that Friday Grey's repeat comes in handy. ;)

He's cursed on both the big and the small screen. Not sure if it's him or the projects he chooses, but I personally am inclined towards the latter since I haven't liked any of his shows or movies.

Scott27 06-29-07 11:36 PM

In case anyone still cares, FOX has rescheduled the burn off of the final two episodes. The episodes are now scheduled to air on Friday, July 13 from 8-10 ET. I emphasize the phrase scheduled to air.

Gizmo 06-30-07 12:00 AM

I thought it was July 4th? Oh well. I hope they do air them or atleast give us a DVD.

Scott27 06-30-07 06:03 AM

It was July 4, but they announced that change yesterday.

Snowmaker 06-30-07 09:56 AM

I'll have to try to remember.

IDrinkMolson 07-01-07 06:31 PM

Ahh, so that's what happened.
The wife just read a TV blurb about the 'week's best bets' and it said Drive on 7/4.
I went to check the ToDo list and it wasn't there.

Fox: "Hey, we aired two out of six episodes on the show's regularly scheduled night, and that ain't bad."

clckworang 07-01-07 07:55 PM

OK, so I really don't like this development at all. Why announce that a show is canceled months ago and then bring out the last couple episodes? I only saw the pilot, and when it was announced that it was canceled, I deleted the other ep without watching. I don't remember them saying before that they would air the other eps. Now that they have, I'm pissed that I'm faced with watching it without the benefit of seeing all the previous ones aired or just waiting until a possible DVD release. I'll probably wait, but then again, I'm still waiting for a lot of other shows to appear on DVD. (Andy Richter Controls the Universe, where are you?)
