I'm not reading this thread yet, but damn, this is an awfully good way to come back after a hiatus.

We know future Hiro seems very concerned with the negative impact of the time travel. I'd chalk that reaction to the obvious time travel.

Actually I think Future Hiro is concerned that he went back in time, revealed himself, and the boys STILL fucked up and NYC was destroyed

pinata242 04-23-07 11:18 PM

I think Future Hiro has done a lot of time traveling to make all those branching timelines.

Rogue588 04-23-07 11:49 PM

Man, did this episode fly by. Glad to see Ted still hangin' in there..

Mercury&Solace 04-24-07 12:09 AM

ABSOLUTELY SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Episode seriously kicked ass!!!
:rock::rock::rock::rock::rock::rock::rock::rock::rock:

Best. Show. On. TV. Period.

I'd love to see an extended Peter / Sylar fight. That was too short.
Agreed.

I cannot wait till next week.

Sylar kicks ass!!!

pinata242 04-24-07 12:15 AM

When Sylar said he couldn't wait to try being invisible, I smiled. But it got me thinking... if was able to absorb Peter's power, understand how his brain ticked, would he automatically gain everything Peter can empath (if that's the proper verb)? Or would he only get Peter's ability to mimic nearby powers and later be able to recall them?

If anyone didn't read the 6-part novel that ran in the hiatus and ended last week, Linderman's power was revealed there. There was one other major spoiler about his past that I really hope they work into the show in the next 4 episodes. In fact, it is probably crucial to understanding all the players.

Im not so sure that "future Hiro" is actually Hiro... It may either be shape-shifting hot girl, or Silar who stole shape shifting hot girls power.

Hmm, I think you're onto something.

Jadzia 04-24-07 12:38 AM

Could someone please explain to me what happened in the Sylar fight? It happened so fast and I was on the treadmill and didn't catch it. What was it that knocked out Sylar?

pinata242 04-24-07 12:39 AM

Mohinder rammed the map chalkboard/easel into him while he was standing over Peter's body.

Sylar tried cutting into Peter's brain, midway through he noticed that Peter started to heal back up and said "I would like to see how that works" then Peter used telekinesis to knock Sylar back into a knick knack shelf thing. Then Peter used the same power to free Mohinder pinned to the ceiling. Sylar then got up, Peter turned invisible, Sylar said "I can't wait to try that" then Sylar used his telekinesis to bring up a grip of sharded glass and basically flooded the room with shards and hit Peter in the back of the head. Then Mohinder rammed him with the map/board thing and knocked him out.

I sooooo wish that fight went a little longer....

fumanstan 04-24-07 01:12 AM

The glass piece was definitely predicatable.

Next week looks exciting, although i'm worried about how all the time-travelling paradoxes are explained.

Heroes is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows......EVER. Unlike many serials, they seem to have an exact idea where they are going. And they reveal the mysteries which leads to the plot getting deeper and more involving as we learn more. The smartest thing that Heroes does is create fully fleshed out back storys. They are the secret to any successfull fantasy strory. Man this show is awesome.

Especially the part where they all played at being heroes in the past and it didn't work out.

What 6 part novel are y'all talking about? Is it online?

DodgingCars 04-24-07 02:05 AM

I haven't check them out yet.

I'd reserve judgement until season two starts..

Be sure to visit www.primatechpaper.com. It was on the card Mohinder was holding at one point in the episode.

There is an application and even a number you can call. Pretty cool promoting.

edit: When you call the number, it asks for an access code. I'm wondering if when Mr. Bennet first gave Mohinder the card, if he mentioned the code. May have to go back and check that out.

good idea peter, turn around and stare at the wall and don't mind that shards of glass are about to be thrown everywhere....

Yeah, I loved the episode, but that scene was a big let down. There were like 5 seconds of time where Sylar was thinking, then raising the glass off the floor and then standing there with it hovering in front of him. Peter could've flown up to the ceiling, snuck around behind Sylar, etc., but instead he's just standing a couple feet away with his back turned? Ok...

Minor gripe aside, this was a great episode. Next week ought to be interesting.
Spoiler:
I wonder if the stuff 5 years down the road will play a role in whether or not the present-day Heroes succeed. Or will it just be a peek at the bleak future if they fail?

SuperBatMan 04-24-07 07:00 AM

Sylar and Peter will probably have a 'rematch' in the season finale, and it will probably be much longer. Can't wait!!

Yeah, that bugged me too. He could have just dropped to the floor even.

So has it been revealed what Peter and Nathan's mom's power is?

Judremy 04-24-07 07:20 AM

After this episode, I think the human bomb is Sylar. We know that the Ted, Radioactive Man, is heading to New York. That is where the bomb is going to go off. I think Sylar will absorb Ted's power and when that happens, he goes boom. If you all remember how Sylar couldn't control the super-hearing after he got that power, it wouldn't be surprising...

If you read the latest comic "String Theory":
Spoiler:
Future Hiro alludes to Sylar being the bomb in a timeline where Sylar successfully kills Claire back in Texas.

So, you may be right. Just a modification on how it will happen.
