yeah pretty good ep.. Few twists, some hints at a few character's back stories, random speeding cars etc..

I'm sort of shocked how much I like this show, it's like an action B grade film..

so of course, I'm sure FOX will cancel it.. but maybe being the lead in to 24 can save it for now.

Mercury&Solace 04-16-07 11:52 PM

Another kick ass episode I love this show!!

Gizmo 04-16-07 11:54 PM

If Fox cancels this I'm done.

Chew 04-17-07 06:49 AM

Three hours in and I'm ready to throw a brick at the screen if I hear "holmes" one more time.

Snowmaker 04-17-07 07:09 AM

I wonder if they'll start doing flashback stories like Lost.

starseed1981 04-17-07 07:40 AM

I like it. I'm sticking with it...but yeah, I don't need to hear holmes from that hispanic kid again.

Super X 04-17-07 08:10 AM

Unfortunately, the first night didn't get great ratings, so we'll see how last night's went. Seems to me, if they want audiences to find their new shows these days, they need to start out by sticking them after American Idol. -ohbfrank-

With the show? With FOX? With TV in general?

Another fun episode. A drive-in movie theater? Even cooler. So few exist anymore. So I recall someone mentioning a spoiler in the opening credit sequence. I caught it tonight. Pretty blatant if you ask me! :brickwl2:

I can't wait for next week! :hungry:

Groucho 04-17-07 08:53 AM

Was that Michael Bowen (aka "Buck" from Kill Bill) as the cop? I didn't read the opening credits carefully enough to notice.

JCWBobC 04-17-07 10:00 AM

That was Michael Bowen from Valley Girl, Private Resort, Kill Bill, Jackie Brown, etc...

IDrinkMolson 04-17-07 12:04 PM

I've enjoyed the first 3 hours. It's going to be one of those 'why don't they call the police' annoying type of shows, but once you get past that it's not bad so far. Although they keep running down the same highway every time.

My wife is distracted by the cars sometimes having tinted windows, then in close ups they don't. I didn't notice it until she mentioned it, I've been distracted by the camera (and crane, and operator) reflections in the cars/windows/doors etc.

I liked the mountain outside of Rome. I also liked how the highway they're driving up (which Capt. Reynold's seat cover called "The" I-75) has the same yellow lines on it over and over and over again. And how they got the "scrub" on the side of the road between Kennedy and Jacksonville to look like the "scrub" in California.

Spoiler:

Are you talking about the dad not being in the credits or about the black girl being in them or about something else entirely?

cdollaz 04-17-07 12:53 PM

Spoiler:
The dad is not in the opening credits, just listed as a guest star, so he might be dying soon

Both of those, and we've been pretty much hipped by the phone call received last night that that person is much more sick than we were led to believe.

DJariya 04-17-07 01:53 PM

I thought the episode was quite fun. It's disappointing the ratings have been horrible for the first 3 hours. Tim Minear and Ben Queen must be reading the Nielsen numbers right now and saying "Oh shit, we're toast!"

The only thing I didn't get was that interrogation from the fake highway patrol officer.

jonw9 04-17-07 02:29 PM

I like the show, but the wife goes in the other room.

One think that kinda annoys me, more than the tint, or the scenery, is the random changing lanes. Drivers weaving back and forth when there is clear driving directly in front of them !

B.A. 04-17-07 07:25 PM

The only thing that is driving me nuts is that traffic is going one way across all lanes of traffic even though there are continuous parallel yellow lines in the middle of the road.

Yeah and it appears that it is the exact same stretch of highway in every scene. I know highway is highway but this is like really bad.

Ill still watch though. Its mindless fun.

mugwump 04-17-07 09:26 PM

Yep, I pretty much hate everything about this show yet for some inexplicable reason I'm still getting a kick out of it. I figure my amusement will end at about the same time that Fox drops the ax.

If I can remember correctly when I had tinted windows when it is brightly lit, it still looks clear during the day, the difference would be at night really. I would have to go back and look but so far I am NOT trying to get caught up in the details if you do that too much with these types of shows it ruins them. This show for me is mindless fun and you have to suspend reality i some situations.....
