Shaggy Vs Alexander - who was funnier?
 

Shaggy, from Scooby Doo and Alexander, from Josie & The Pussycats, were the comic relief for their respective shows.

But who was funnier?

My vote goes for Alexander who, with sister Alexandria, played off one another that had me howling with laughter as a kid.

Shaggy was comic relief? I thought he was created as a cautionary deterrent against drug abuse.

He was actually created as a cartoon version of Maynard G. Krebs -- the Scooby Doo concept started as a cartoon take on Dobie Gillis, much as the Flintstones was a cartoon take on the Honeymooners and Top Cat was a cartoon take on Phil Silvers/Sgt. Bilko. Scooby Doo just got a little further from the source material (they added a talking dog and made him the star of the show, for one thing).
