Is Veronica Mars based on the Chloe Sullivan character from Smallville ?
 

They seem so similar, from detective work to smartass comments.
I read on some forum that UPN found out about the popularity of the Chloe character, and decided to do a show with a similar character.
Any truth to that ?

I don't know if that helped get the show a green light, but Veronica Mars is based on a novel that Rob Thomas was writing.

Did you know...? Kristen Bell was up for the role of Chloe Sullivan.

Wow. That would have made Smallville the hottest show ever. Ever!

Yeah me and a friend noticed the similarities the other day. Then discussed HLA possibilities :)

Wait wait wait.... Kristen Bell auditioned for Chloe?... and they went with the cutting chick from 7th frakking heaven?!

I suppose it's more realistic though... If Kristen Bell had been pining away for Clark and he still wanted Lana, I would have quit the show when he ditched Chloe at the prom (instead of applauding and laughing at her tears).

I'm glad that we were/are able to experience both shows. No more VM makes me sad. Chloe on VM and the show doesn't survive season 1.

I like Kristen Bell and she's pretty cute, but Allison Mack is much better looking IMO. Which is one of the problems I have with Smallville. How can Clark still be pining over Lana when a hottie like Chloe's been wanting him this entire time?

Not to mention that he's ultimately going to chase after Lois. :lol:

No kidding. He's pining over Lana when Lois is walking around in tight red vinyl outfits.

Don't get me wrong, I think Mack is hot in her own rite (perhaps a better rack?), but me loves Kristen Bell...

Seconded. Mack has nothing on Bell. No contest. I feel stupid for even having this argument.

Also, she is probably the only main hot character in any show to have seem meat on her bones. Kristen looks a bit anorexic.

Yeah, that's what's great about Allison Mack. She's hot while actually having a normal body. I'm sick of Hollywood passing off Karen Carpenter clones as "hot". The Skeletor look is not attractive.

As for Kristen Bell looking too skinny, maybe if she ate meat that wouldn't be a problem.:)

Guesswho inspired me to do a Google image search for Ms. Mack, and low and behold there are several images of Kristin Bell tagged "Alison Mack."

But it's on the internet so Allison Mack must ALSO be Kristen Bell! :eek:

I hate that standard comment of "At least she has meat on her bones." Which is another way of saying she's got some puppy fat on her. Just because KB's body is rock hard does not mean she's anorexic, it means she works out more and eats less than Mack, not that she's sick.

I'll take KB just like she is. Most beautiful woman in hollywood IMO...
