The Black Donnellys (3/26/07) - "Run Like Hell"
 

I like this show, I really do. It just seems to me that so many of these TV shows lately are so scared to get pulled quickly that they throw the book at you instead of letting it develop.

This could be a very good show. I really like the cast and there is the potential for some good story lines.

Jimmy RUINS this show IMO. Is anyone really THAT stupid? Would his brothers really cover his ass every time he does something that dumb?

They try and cram so much story in every week instead of just letting it happen that it becomes unbelievable.

I dont know why I am even bothering with this show though. The ratings are so bad it isnt going to last anyway. Sad really.

I like the show a lot, but I agree that Jimmy is so unlikeable that it's hard to understand why Tommy just doesn't kill him himself. I'm sure it doesn't have a great shot, but I'd really appreciate if NBC could give this one another season to grow an audience.

if the number of responses in the weekly Donnelly's threads here at DVDTalk are any indication, then this show is doomed.

I more or less like the show, but they need to come up with better storylines than somebody needing money each week. Hope it sticks around, though.

Oh, and Dokey and that ax are getting obnoxious. He's a good "bad guy," but the ax bit is a bit over the top. Just goes around chopping everybody's toes off? Ok....

That is dumb, as well as the fact that... Can't remember his name in this or Oz... so I'll call him Joe Toye from Band of Brothers... just offed two union men. That was ridiculous. So Huey MUST BE AVENGED, yet two jobbers get killed for no other reason that Toye is flexing his balls and there's NO retribution?!


And count me in for the "Jimmy Must Die" clan. I thought he "went to rehab and changed his life." Well right now his just an unbearable moron who puts on the stupid pug scowl and fakes a terrible accent. Tommy seems to do everything right ("right" being relative to his criminal activities) while Jimmy is just asking to get everyone he cares about killed. I want to enjoy this show too, but if Tommy and Jenny keep eye-fucking each other while Jimmy gets more and more annoying, I'm out.

finally got around to watchin it today, ya the storylines are too similar from week to week but i was cheering when Tommy finally beat up that deadbeat

Why doesn't Olivia Wilde get Tommy or one of his brothers to beat the money out of the mailman that was stealing the money from the mailbox?

She doesn't want any help and probably doesn't want anyone to know about her dads condition, but I think Tommy knows already and will get the money back for her tonight.

Too bad...no Pink Floyd.

i'm guessing a beatdown is in the mailman's future.

Just finished watching tonight's episode. I really want to like this show more than I do. For Olivia Wilde's sake. My Olivia Wilde. :(
