i know this has probably been discussed before, but why does the poll open up before the show even starts and contestants perform?

Groucho 03-27-07 08:20 AM

If Sanjaya sings "Laid" I'm throwing all my votes to him:

"Dye my eyes and call me pretteeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeee!"

brainee 03-27-07 08:42 AM

I'll go out on a limb and predict that Sanjaya sucks tonight.

dadaluholla 03-27-07 08:48 AM

So these are only 90's pop songs then?

GuessWho 03-27-07 08:58 AM

If Sanjaya sings "Laid"
"The neighbors complain about the noises above"

Like, your singing?

The theme has been changed to "Songs that Influenced Gwen Stefani" (including two of her own songs, apparently she is so influential that she influences herself).

Below is the song list and order of performance (with dress). I will say that Sanjaya is dressing like a pirate. You read that right.

Spoiler:

Lakisha Jones - "Love Has a Mind of It's Own" by Donna Summer
Blake Lewis - "Love Song" by the Cure
Jordin Sparks - "Hey Baby" by No Doubt
Chris Richardson - "Don't Speak" by No Doubt
Gina Glocksen - "Just Like A Pill" by Pink
Phil Stacey - "Every Breath You Take" by the Police
Haley Scarnato - "True Colors" by Cyndi Lauper
Sanjaya Malakar - "Sunday Morning" by Maroon 5
Melinda Doolittle - "Sunset People" by Donna Summer
Chris Sligh - "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" by the Police

Performance Order

1. Lakisha (Blue Dress, very long, jewlery all over)
2. Blake (Black Pants, White Dress Shirt)
3. Jordin (Pink Dress, splits down the leg)
4. Chris R (Black Shirt, Black Shorts, Bandana)
5. Gina (Black tank top and white skirt)
6. Phil (Blue Shirt, Black Pants)
7. Haley (Long pink dress)
8. Sanjaya (Tight black pants, and puffy blue shirt)
9. Melinda (Huge Gown, bigger then Lakisha's, Red)
10. Sligh (Brown shirt, and black pants)

No doubt that after tonight, many people's favorite songs of all time will forever be ruined for them.

To spare him/her from hearing another rendition of "You Really Got Me" (?)

Rick1962 03-27-07 01:43 PM

I will never forgive Sanjaya for what he did to "You Really Got Me." NEVER!!!

Tonight he's dressing like a Pirate? Good Lord! Ugh!

magiccmom 03-27-07 01:52 PM

Based on that song list I think (forget Sunjaya...he sucks every week) that
Spoiler:
Phil and Haley are in trouble...no one ever does those songs justice

Cant wait to see what Blake does...I just enjoy his performances so much. Last weeks performance was one of my all time AI performance ever. And I know he isnt a Great singer, he is just unique and adds his own flair and doesnt overdo his beatboxing.

Regarding Blake's song selection:
Spoiler:
This guy sure loves 311. Even though he's singing "Love Song", I'd imagine it will sound more like 311's cover than the original.

Don't abandon the dads, Haley. We got you through last week, but we're a fickle bunch!

Bluelitespecial 03-27-07 03:03 PM

Just like a pill is not a 90s song, I believe it came out in 01.

That's the EXACT comment I e-mailed with my friend AI e-mail thread when I saw the list. Great minds...

Some of you voting still believe Sanjaya will get the least amount of votes? After votefortheworst.com and Stern encourages everyone to vote for him?

gotrice487 03-27-07 03:49 PM

I had to vote for Sanjaya just because he's still here and every week I hope we are getting closer to him getting the boot

Those people have far less influence than they think that they do.

That may be true but I'm not going to be surprised if Sanjaya avoids the bottom 2 or 3 again this week. Especially if he performs like he did last week. Hilarious!

1990s has nothing to do with the theme anymore. Re-read post #7.

i'm in the same boat. hopefully this week he will say something that will drive off the fickle throngs of prepubescent girls that vote for him. i leave the room every time he performs - it is that painful.
