Eh, it was ok I guess.
|
Travis' voice also made me chuckle every time, but overall pretty weak episode.
|
What was it a parody of when the lice was hanging on the fly's leg and all the backgrounds were in slow motion?

I thought that was like any war movie - when the wounded hero finaly gets picked up by the chopper and taken to safety... for some reason I want to say Platoon. |

Wasn't the scene in Babel with the girl on the swing like that? |
Blargh.. I need to stop watching South Park at 6:00 AM. My juices aren't flowing enough to get all the laughs at that point but I did laugh out loud when Mrs. Garrison called the kids dumbasses and of course, the ending. She must have pissed somebody in the SP offices off.
|
I thought it was a great episode. I thought the animation in the lice world was impressive. The kid's were secondary to the main story of the plight of the lice and their world. Alot of in jokes to movies like 'Ant Bully' 'An Inconvient Truth' 'The Thing' (obviousily). The humour was there, but it was subtle - I enjoyed it.

Would have made a lot more sense if it was Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton or someone like that |
Don't worreh, Kelleh! I'll save our babeh!

Quick question: My frackin' DVR stopped recording right as they were doing the pull-back reveal at the end. It sounds from this board like it was Angelina Jolie that they were currently living on? And from the color of those things they were crabs? Am I missing anything else? Doc |

We also need to factor in the heavy-handed references to "The Day After Tomorrow."
(Side note: DVR cut off as well...) |

It's so crap, right? The thing with Comedy Central is that they have no commercials between the end credits of the previous show and the begining of the next, but they have ridiculously long commercials during the episode. As a result, I often times miss the last southpark joke, The Daily Show's moment of Zen or the final thought on the Colbert Report. And I'm dealing with Comcast's dvr instead of Tivo (God, Tivo was so much better) so if I pad a show, it often times screws up the recording of the show immediately afterward. Doc |
oh and whole episode made me itch, all over.
|
That's funny!!! I was scratching my head the whole time I watched it! I thought overall the episode was weak, but the laugh at the end was great!

mine cut off also. what did I miss? I won't be around to catch it's repeat tonight.

My favorite parts were the great Return of the King parody and the silly way he talked about "kellay" and his "babay". The ending was telegraphed, but still a little funny. Not sure what to make about the rest of it, but it was OK enough, I guess.

I thought it was just kind of a 'eh' episodes had a few good laughs scattered throughout and the end had me crackin' up pretty hard, but I thought this was the weakest of the newer episodes by far.
|
The South Park movie parodies always amuse me, especially this one.
Particularly the cheap sentimentality, attempts at sincerity and drama, clunky foreshadowing and of course, the villain's come-uppance... I was rolling when the great deux ex machina (Clyde) disposed of the 'Vice President'. It was just too perfect. |
It was pretty funny as well, that they centered the episode around Clyde, who, as far as I can tell has no personality at all. It was kind of funny to have all the major characters accusing each other, and total background character Clyde shaking in his boots, without even being important enough to accuse.

As soon as the Dad started telling everyone that their world was doomed and that they had to start thinking about abandoning it for a different world and everyone called him foolish, I was POSITIVE we were going to see him reluctantly put his BabAH in a rocket and fire it off to Butters or something right as the shampoo started destroying everything.

I thought it was good. They do a good job of making some episodes the kind that leave you with your jaw dropped and some just cute, rather trying to top themself every single time.
