Sounds like it could be.

I watched last weeks episode late and didn't get to comment. I liked it a lot. Not as good as Desmond's episode, but in a strange way Hurly's hope translated into hope for the show. It was a fun episode with lots of character development and little progression. Very season one-ish.

of course it'll be "sawyerized" for our viewing pleasure
*edit - has anyone actually made a decent LOST drinking game yet? i found a few on google but they only had 4-5 different rules.

Here are your spoilers for tonight. Before I list them, I'd also like to say there is some buzz (non-producer related) that this episode will actually reveal some more about the mysteries of the island. I will table that until it actually airs.

I think the Sawyer idea sounds like fun. An episode that combines island plot advancement with a fun subplot is what I like to hear - I'm suprised at the criticism.
If the ping-pong tournament was the whole focus of the episode, then that'd be a different story...

Anyone read the TV guide story about Lost this week. Addresses fan concerns that the show is going down hill and they even mentioned the episode from a few weeks ago that promised 3 "Answers" and they too were/are scratching their heads as to what they were. They did promise more answers but I have heard that before.
They also promised to get back to the basics with the original cast all together again.
We'll see.

This is my first post in a Lost thread in a few months and I find it interesting that back then I had commented that Lost hadn't jumped the shark yet, although Lost threads had in fact jumped the shark due to too many, "sounds awesome, can't wait" type of posts.
How much has changed! now that Lost is in decline, the Lost threads are starting to transform into Enterprise threads and as a result are now sometimes more fun than the show itself.
The ping-pong story line may be a shark jumper, but for me, I think I'll wait for the inevitable musical episode!

As for the "jumping the shark" moment ... Sawyer and the Tree Frog, anyone? That great episode ("One Of Them", Henry Gale's grand introduction to the show) will forever be scarred by that pointless subplot. But at least this one looks like it will be fun.

I actually enjoyed Hurley's back story last week. So I guess I'm one of the few who doesn't feel like the series is going down the drain.
