Sound Editing: Letters from Iwo Jima

Hokeyboy 02-25-07 08:17 PM

I always feel nervous if there are more than one winner and the first guy to speak seems to take forever and the guy in back looks antsy as hell. He comes up and says "Uh--" and the orchestra kicks in and he's fucked. It's just not fair. :(

Daytripper 02-25-07 08:17 PM

Oh boy....the sound effects guy is pulling out a list of people to thank.....

Seeker 02-25-07 08:17 PM

Or just ushered off...

Deftones 02-25-07 08:17 PM

Yeah, that sort of sucks.

The Infidel 02-25-07 08:17 PM

The mic cutting out while they were poking fun at sound editors...that was classic.

NotThatGuy 02-25-07 08:17 PM

Ok...James Macavoy...is damn lucky. I mean....he does not fit next to her.

I couldn't believe he didn't win for LOA, then I took at the nominees and winner for 1962:

Win: Gregory Peck, To Kill a Mockingbird

Nominee : Peter O'Toole, Lawrence of Arabia
Nominee : Burt Lancaster, Birdman of Alcatraz
Nominee : Jack Lemmon, Days of Wine and Roses
Nominee : Marcello Mastroianni, Divorce—Italian Style

It was quite a packed field that year!

JesseCuster 02-25-07 08:19 PM

Apocalypto is getting shut out. What a shocker.

NotThatGuy 02-25-07 08:19 PM

I hear all of this buzz about Dream Girls...was it really that good? It just doesn't seem that good. I dunno....
