Hey - I can screencap too! Wow - never even tried it before. http://seeker.seekinfinity.com/dvdta...1904(TV12).jpg |
That shot is hillarious, flashbacks of Mulholland Drive with that hand placement and those facial expressions.
This interviewer is horrible (the chick). |
I've never done this before - surfing the net, doing a bit of PHP/MySql, watching the oscars - maybe even a screencap or two...

When does the damn thing really start?

My Picks
(mostly based on gut feelings since i've only seen maybe 30% of the nominated movies) I deleted some catagories, because this took freaking forever! Performance by an actor in a leading role Forest Whitaker in “The Last King of Scotland” (Fox Searchlight) Will Smith would be a 'safe' pick...but I don't think he'll get it. Performance by an actor in a supporting role Alan Arkin in “Little Miss Sunshine” (Fox Searchlight) It'd be pretty cool if Jackie Earle Haley won, just because of the child star thing. Performance by an actress in a leading role Helen Mirren in “The Queen” (Miramax, Pathé and Granada) I think the fact the movie wasn't great hurt her...but from everything i've heard...she was great. I only saw a bit of the movie. Performance by an actress in a supporting role Adriana Barraza in “Babel” (Paramount and Paramount Vantage) I think she'll win, but i'd LOVE if Abigail Breslin won, she was great. Best animated feature film of the year “Happy Feet” (Warner Bros.) George Miller Achievement in art direction "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” (Buena Vista) Art Direction: Rick Heinrichs Set Decoration: Cheryl Carasik No idea! Achievement in cinematography “Children of Men” (Universal) Emmanuel Lubezki Just a guess Achievement in costume design “The Queen” (Miramax, Pathé and Granada) Consolata Boyle Achievement in directing “The Departed” (Warner Bros.) Martin Scorsese I'd love for this to happen...not sure if it will. Best documentary feature “An Inconvenient Truth” (Paramount Classics and Participant Productions) A Lawrence Bender/Laurie David Production Davis Guggenheim I haven't seen any of the movies in this catagory, but this would be the 'easy' pick. Best motion picture of the year [i]“Babel” (Paramount and Paramount Vantage) An Anonymous Content/Zeta Film/Central Films Production Alejandro González Iñárritu, Jon Kilik and Steve Golin, Producers[/b] Just a guess. I"d love LMS to win, but too many good movies to have that happen. Achievement in visual effects “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” (Buena Vista) John Knoll, Hal Hickel, Charles Gibson and Allen Hall --------- While doing this, they interviewed the mexican directors from Babel. "We don't like each other that much, but there is this sexual attraction. " -p |
so what time does everyone think this thing will actually end? i say 11.42 CST.

I actually have little to no clue, as I've only seen a handful of these movies - I have a bunch of them in Netflix.
But yeah - Abigail winning would be cool - I wish Mary Badham had won in the 60s, but hard to argue against Patty Duke. |
Being on the west coast, it's never been a big deal with it running late :D

I can sleep in a bit tomorrow...i'm stoked.

Were we supposed to know who 90% of the people were in that intro thing?

Ellen seems rushed and nervous.

Is she just talking extemporaneously? Feels like it, and it's not really entertaining.

Anyone seen O'Toole?
EDIT: Sorry just saw him |
she sucks
|
That's her style...but she isn't as smooth as i'd thought.

I'm remembering all those great openings with Billy Crystal....
|
Ok...that Al Gore joke was really funny....

I've yet to see an oscar opening that didn't run insanely long and make me want to change the channel.
