family guy

i would like to ask what episode it is where they are in court and the lady keeps saying oh no then a guy comes through the wall and yells oh ya

The Infidel 02-24-07 09:22 PM

I believe that was the very first episode, Death Has A Shadow, where Peter collects welfare, then gets in trouble and goes to court. It was the Kool-Aid guy that comes through the wall.

You believe correctly. Season 1 episode 1.

Can somebody help me out?

I once saw this "Family Guy" episode and it had a bunch of flat, poorly-developed and unlikeable characters, shoddy animation and a bunch of unfunny throwaway gags and random pop-culture references.

Furthermore the plot of this episode was pretty much identical to an episode of "The Simpsons" that aired years earlier.

So can anyone tell me which one this was?

I agree with you, but that was such a threadcrap. He wasn't asking for your opinion of anything.

Yup, it was the first episode of the show to air (airing right after the Super Bowl in '99).

Haven't seen that particular episode of Family Guy yet, will have to rewatch a few seasons and see if I come across it. I'm sad to say though, that description is very well suited to The Simpsons themselves as of late, oh how good they used to be, and yet I stick with them... kind of like a comfort food.

You have to be more specific. It is the original airing of the Simpsons plot, or the second (third?) time the Simpsons used the same storyline?

GuruTwo, threadcrapping is against forum rules. If you aren't interested in the show, then please don't post in the thread.

I doubt this will be specific enough, but there is an episode of the Family Guy where one of the secondary characters says the word "roar" in a very effeminate voice (sounds more like "rawr").

For some reason my wife and I picked this up and we say it all the time, but for the life of me I can't remember which episode it is. As often as I watch Family Guy I'm starting to think I saw it someplace else. Anyway, if anyone knows which episode it is please share.

I'm pretty sure that's the episode where Brian goes to Hollywood and starts directing porn movies. The character that says that is another dog he meets out there.

Big Boy Laroux 02-26-07 08:34 PM

isn't it brian's gay cousin?

I probably laughed more times during the last one or two Family Guy episodes than ANY entire season of The Simpsons that I've seen so far and I own all of the Simpsons dvds to date.

BTW, it's not like The Simpsons doesn't borrow ideas for their stories, because they do. They've now done almost everything so it's hard for similar story ideas not to be reused by Family Guy. Even when they're borrowed the episodes end up wildly different. I seem to recall The Simpsons not too far back doing something that Family Guy did, but you don't hear me complaining.

Just know that your opinion is just that; an opinion. I personally think several of the Family Guy characters are great and more entertaining than most of The Simpsons characters.

I personally think the Simpsons has better story telling, but Family Guy is the much funnier show. I enjoy both for different reasons.
