I hope this one gets us away from the whole likeness to day 2.

Day 5 was Day 2 Redux, only the President was the bad guy in the final 1/3 of the season instead of the lone hero in his adminstration.

For the first time ever, 24 is really testing my patience. Some people I got hooked on the show dropped it from their schedule this season, I don't think I'll go that far, but I'm slowly losing interest with each passing episode. I hope things'll get back on track soon.

I didn't get to participate in last week's thread, I just watched it last night and I have to agree. I never thought I would see the day. Ever since the nuke went off it has gotten progressivly worse each week.

I've been one of 24's biggest proponents but this whole evil brother/father crap is just retarded. Not to mention Fayed's miraculous escape last week(leftover plot device from season 4). Climbing down a 6 story rope and getting far enough away to a helicopter in a matter of a couple minutes. Add to that the moronic choices by Morris and Mrs. Bauer. We are talking about nuclear fucking weapons. Do what the terrorist want and you or your kid or going to die anyway. Morons.

Maybe it's doomed to have a down year every 3rd season. As I recall, Season 3 pissed off a lot of people until things finally got going once the virus was released in the hotel.

The only catch is they had the virus card to play in the 3rd season's 2nd half. They've already set off a nuke in the first 4 hours. Where do they go from here?

DJariya 02-19-07 01:38 PM

Season 3 had alot of the same soap opera/inconsistent storylines that so many people here are complaining about with season 6.

Spoiler:

1. The Kyle Singer storyline was a wild goose chase for the 1st 5 episodes or so that went nowhere fast.
2. David Palmer's relationship with his doctor Ann and her scheming ex-husband.
3. Wayne Palmer's affair with Allan Milliken's wife and the subsequent cover up and murder involving Sherry.
4. Jack's heroin addiction that was an issue for the 1st 10 episodes and then never brought up again.

I think season 6 seems to be struggling with some of the problems that made season 3 inconsistent. However, as Doughboy mentioned season 3 did pick up at the 2nd half of the season especially when the virus was released.

Here's hoping that the "Powers Boothe for President" storyline inches closer to success!

TheMovieman 02-19-07 02:49 PM

I am actually considering dropping 24 and watching... Two and a Half Men. At least I'd be more entertained.

MovieExchange 02-19-07 03:36 PM

The problem, as we've stated in most of the previous threads, is that they've killed off almost every entertaining cast member and replaced them with people that suck. No one has been as good a president as David Palmer was. Bill Buchanon isn't even a quarter of the character that Tony Almeida was, and he and that middle eastern lady (can't remember her name) are nowhere close to the team of Tony and Michelle. Chloe & Milo or Morries have nowhere near the chemistry that Chloe and Edgar did.

Did anyone catch her say to Jack that his dad said he would kill Graham (knowing he is already dead) and her son?

Some kind of flub there or did I miss hear it?

I heard it the same way, and quickly thought, "Wait, the son's name is Graham too?".

MovieExchange 02-19-07 08:31 PM

"No, Bill, I'm not going to tell you what's going on. I'd rather take the risk that I get killed and then you'll have no clue what's happening or what I was doing."

What the heck was that all about?

I guess more EXTENDED SCENES on the DVD!

So far, a crappy half hour. Hope they assassinate Palmer.

And I don't know what's worse, Morris vs. Milo, or Morris vs. Chloe(new ver.)?

Her name is Marisol Nichols and she only believes in science.

Okay, we misheard "he said he'd(he had) killed Graem...".

Chloe: "I already talked to him about it, he didn't metabolize the alcohol."
Milo: "He didn't me-ta-bolize the alcohol??"

Some humorous moments in the last half. We need to see Jack use these baddies as a punching bag more often.

uteotw 02-19-07 09:28 PM

I actually started to feel sorry for Morris. I mean, he DID take a pistol whipping, a beatdown w/some metal bar, and a very large drill bit to the shoulder before he folded and make that device to kill tens of thousands. And now buff Milo's the hero. Poor Morris.

Funny Jack couldn't hear Dad walk away and disappear. So Dad gave him a cellphone and the ex-President's phone number? Ummm...

Yes, I know. But they made a specific plot point about her ethnicity, so I figured that was the easiest reference for people to remember since I couldn't remember her name.

Shazam 02-19-07 09:46 PM

Yeah, um, who's the guy that Jack was talking to at the end? This is my first 24 season.

He was president last season.

Only the most spineless, evil president in US history!

BTW, the guy who playes him is a FANTASTIC actor and should have won an emmy last season, so this should be fun

Ah, I guess that makes more sense.
