At least we'll be getting back to the original island a bit now.

That was Calamity Jane from Deadwood. Thought I knew her from somewhere.

The guy that "recruited" Juliette reminded me of Nathan Petrelli. And Ethan Rom's face looked fatter than hell.

I've kind of liked Tom this season. Wonder if we'll get a backstory on him.

Final Destination is from 2000, and I think that Felicity episode is from 99 or 2000, so its close. But I said Felicity because JJ Abrams worked on that show as well.

Wait, who is the person who Juliet walked by inside their building on the island? The guy who said "hello"... wasn't that Ethan?

Glad to see the show "back". Decent episode. Was an enjoyable episode.

Ben and Rousseau? What a concept. Don't know if Rousseau's Alex is the one we have been seeing. Could be...

Actually looking forward to the next ep.

That wasn't on the island afaik, that was her walking into the research lab to grab the fertility drugs.

That makes sense. I got confused with the way they did the flashbacks this ep.

Wow, I'm usually in the other camp (no pun intended) but tonight I watched this episode and said - who cares?

This was one long episode about whispering, surgery and running. This is not the reason this show had me hooked in the past, I really have no interest in these 'others'. WTF is going on on the island? What is the smoke monster? The hatches? Where's Walt? Where's the rest of the cast? What was that big 4 toed statue? What is the magnetic anomoly? Why is Desmond psychic?

Please bring this show back to it's roots already...

By the way, Ben is not her real father, he kidnapped Alex when she was very young and must have raised her for his own daughter Zorro style.

I always remember the guy who played Juliet's recruiter as Batmanuel from "The Tick".

Was it my imagination, but has being on the island for these past 3 years been good for Juliet's facial skin? In the flashbacks, her face was a bit ruddy, but on the island, her face was much smoother.

That was Batmanuel!

I thought this was a pretty good episode. Benry is still pretty terrifying even with his back ripped open. For awhile there I thought he was kicking Juliet off the island ala Survivor style.
Sawyer continues to have the best lines:
Nice to meet you Sheena. And, the aforementioned 'wookie escape trick'.

Juliet has been there for 3 years, that puts Ethan in the states 3 years ago.

I liked it. The interaction between Jack and Tom was great.

I wonder if the ultrasound pictures are going to tie in with Claire somehow.

The Juliet recruiter used to be on 'Suddenly Susan' where he had a fake accent.

I kind of figured that was the point...it let us know the people who made that main land building also created the buildings on the island. But the mystery for me is why would they love dilapidated designs so much that they would take them to a secret island?

Great show, and so happy they are showing 16 episodes in a row with no repeats. Can't wait to see Sayid kick some ass soon.

It's probably very likely that the "daughter" business means that Ben raised Alex after she was taken from Danielle.

On the other hand, we don't really know what happened to Danielle's husband and the rest of her team. For all we know, they could have been Dharma, too. Ben might have been her husband; also might explain why she was able to capture him so easily last season, and what he was doing on the island.

Or Danielle could be working with the Others as a double agent. They could have sent her out as a plant (like Ethan and Goodwin). She certainly seems to know a lot about what is going on on the island (such as the "security system") but has been generally short on answers. She was also the first one to spook them about "the others." She also kidnapped Aaron at the exact same time Tom and Co. were going to out to take Walt. Made a good distraction from what was really going down, hmm?

Glad to see Lost is back, though found myself really really bored with this episode. Didn't care much for the Juliet flashback, what she was doing, her research or how she got on the island. I still might be suffering from the long break in the season, and just need to get back into it, I sure hope it gets better.

FWIW, Nestor Carbonell (Juliet recruiter) and Matthew Fox share a scene in the movie Smokin' Aces.

I'd even wager that "the sickness" that took the rest of her group may have been the brainwashing technique they were subjecting Carl/Karl to (and inadvertnently subjected Kate and Sawyer to).

All in all, I'd say this was definitely a strong return, even though we didn't see ANY of the main island group.
