Update:

According to a poster in a different forum who works on the show, the finale is once again delayed. The cheap ass bastards at ABC are swapping out a Johnny Cash song for the final montage because it's "Too expensive" to use. The replacement song was just mixed in yesterday, thus according to the poster it won't make it to the website until Friday at the earliest.

FinkPish 02-28-07 01:51 PM

No, the song is being mixed in today, not yesterday.

movieking 02-28-07 02:12 PM

Just stream the damn episode already!

cdoug57 02-28-07 08:06 PM

Really wanting to see the conclusion, how much longer do we have to wait?

Get with it ABC.

Chauzer 02-28-07 11:12 PM

god dammit, fucking abc

uteotw 03-01-07 10:43 PM

I can't believe they're treating this good show this poorly even ONLINE. Sheesh...

CreamyGoodness 03-02-07 07:29 AM

I think the name of the last episode is "What if the Viewers Never Find Out..."

johnglass 03-02-07 09:12 AM

For those of you wondering why this series never caught on with the viewing public, I present exhibit A:

No sign of the series finale yet. Looks like we'll have to wait another week.

Wow! that diagram is making my head spin just looking at it.

Earlier it said "Premiering This week", now it says

"Premiering today 3/2
only on ABC.com
"What If It's Him""

FinkPish 03-02-07 05:34 PM

The Finale is finally up!

DJariya 03-02-07 07:55 PM

Just finished the finale. Good conclusion to the series.

But, I have one question:

Spoiler:
Who the heck was that guy in the final scene that was staring at Brett and Rita?

Spoiler:
It was Jared(Surfer Dude)

Thanks FinkPish! The cast and crew of Day Break did a great job and put together a good thrill ride for 13 episodes. I wonder if there will be enough interest for this series to get a DVD release.

forceuser13 03-03-07 02:14 AM

Wait, I'm confused, why was his day repeating? Who the hell was that guy? I assume he made the day repeat, but how. That was some BS explanation, great series nonetheless.

See post #63 on that guy. I don't think they really gave an explantion on why the day was repeating.

A huge thumbs down :thmbsdwn: to all the Lost fans who chose to blow off this show. It was 13 episodes of thrilling TV.

mrhan 03-03-07 09:49 AM

So, if there was a second season would it have been about

Spoiler:
his ex partner and the defense lawyer?

Too bad there isn't going to be one. Hopefully, there will be a DVD release. I want to watch it again on a big screen.

Chauzer 03-03-07 10:43 AM

it was a decent finale... still wouldve liked for them to explain why is day was repeating

uteotw 03-04-07 02:42 PM

Awesome. Never seen a better show get worse treatment in such a haste exit. Glad for the internet--thanks at least for that. Great acting, cool premise, original & excellent show.

I'm sorry, but such an explanation would have turned a very nice finale to a great series into an AWFUL finale. What you're really asking is HOW it happened (the WHY I think is pretty clear - to bring down the conspiracy, avenge his father, yada yada yada), and think about it, there's no possible explanation you could give that wouldn't be an instant jump-the-shark moment and completely overshadow the whole show. It's one of those huge suspension of disbelief things that you just have to accept, file away, and then get on to what the show is really about.

IMO they gave just the right amount of mystique about the HOW, and correctly left the rest to our imagination.

(Consider one of the best all-time treatments of this concept - Groundhog Day - they didn't ever explain the technical HOW/WHY there either. Because there isn't really any good explanation possible, and it's not needed anyway.)

I enjoyed the series a lot, it's a shame so few people saw it. I would have liked to see more of an action oriented ending involving Hopper and the main bad guy, like a gun battle or something, it seemed to wrap things up a little too neat and tidy. Loved the surfer guy at the end though, implying that he was involved or caused the day to repeat after all.

Before the show got pulled after episode 6, there was a larger final episode planned. Hopper and Chad would have gotten into a fight that eventually ended up on a bus, and you can probably guess which bus that would have been. But because budgets got scaled back, it wasn't possible anymore.

PacMan2006 03-09-07 01:02 AM

Are the episodes now longer available to view? I am just now able to get around to seeing them, but a window pops up saying the ads aren't viewable on the video and for me to try another one.

Day Break videos no longer work?

FinkPish 03-09-07 01:13 AM

Checked it just now, and it seems to be working fine.

DJariya 03-09-07 04:02 AM

All 13 episodes are still there as of Friday morning. I don't think ABC has any reason to pull them. They are produced by Touchstone, which ABC owns.

Smith was pulled from CBS Innertube after 4 weeks because I believe Warner Brothers owned that show and probably only licensed them from a brief period.
