30 Rock 1/11/07 - The Rural Juror

Why no thread? Did I miss something? Was it a repeat?

For what it's worth I thought it was another winner. But then again 30 Rock can't miss in my book.

Michael T Hudson 01-12-07 08:14 AM

I agree it is my favorite new show this year.

rfduncan 01-12-07 08:20 AM

I loved how so many previous things came back ("Ah, Grisham. I love his work.").

I also enjoy how Whoopi was so willing to be so self-deprecating.

Jimmy James 01-12-07 08:20 AM

The pull down window shade with the GE subsidiary chart just slayed me.

Geofferson 01-12-07 08:33 AM

Another solid episode last night.

rfduncan 01-12-07 08:38 AM

Did anyone notice the differences in the retellings between Liz and Jenna on the "critques". In the third one, Liz is with a tall, handsome doctor in a lab coat and in Jenna's version he is a short, dumpy blue-collar guy in a white shirt with his name on it.

The Bus 01-12-07 08:39 AM

This is slowly becoming a can't miss.

"Do you like Phil Collins?"
"I have two ears and a heart, don't I?"

Tracy is doing an awesome job. "I heard eating bread eats your brain!"

das Monkey 01-12-07 08:50 AM

 I like it, but I don't think either of the last two was that special and a bit of a letdown after watching The Office. I may want to reverse these since I watch them both on delay anyway.

I liked the "Rural Juror" stuff -- it reminded me of David Spade's bit. Ruurl? Rur-ral?

das

RoyalTea 01-12-07 09:16 AM

I loved Dr. Spaceman looking at the x-rays.

"Dammit ... Where are my car keys?"

Agreed. Lots of funny little moments.

megashock5 01-12-07 09:37 AM

"Hall or Bellingham?"
"You know an Arsenio Bellingham?"
"No"

Patman 01-12-07 09:41 AM

I did laugh when Lemon punched the furry animal character (she didn't think anyone was in the suit at the time).

mdc3000 01-12-07 09:50 AM

I have grown to love this show as well...every week there are some very funny moments. I loved the scene between the Rural Juror writers and the name of the sequel "Urban Fervor"...

boogieman03 01-12-07 09:54 AM

I just like saying "rur jur" to my self.

Giantrobo 01-12-07 11:21 AM

There were a lot of lines that had me LOL.

...She makes that badger face...

(Lemon frowns)

See there it is!

Jimmy James 01-12-07 11:48 AM

The part where Jack says he smelled crazy in the room and just assumed it was Jenna was also outstanding.

BDB 01-12-07 12:48 PM

I loved it, the only issue I had was that it looked like it almost ripped of Arrested Development and it's cornballer. Which was sold in Mexico.

Groucho 01-12-07 12:50 PM

I was also reminded of the Cornballer...which also had a celebrity endorsement (Richard Simmons).

Cusm 01-12-07 01:57 PM

This is quickly taking the number one spot on Thursday nights. Has there EVER been a better 2 hours of comedy on any station?

Nth Power 01-12-07 02:17 PM

Kenneth's bits were funny too :

- The prop guy poking the fish in his face.
- Kenneth getting squirted with hot grease from the Meat Machine.

I love this show.

MrX 01-12-07 02:23 PM

I kept waiting for Tracy to show up as Star Jones during the View skit, eventhough she's not on the show or a blob anymore.

The Rural Juror stuff still cracks me up just thiniking about it.

Or later on at Jack's office

"Did anyone get hurt?"
"Just Kenneth."
"Good."

Cusm 01-12-07 07:50 PM

Poor Kenneth can never eat his food without it getting stolen by someone.

B.A. 01-12-07 10:56 PM

This is boring. I'm bored now.

I've given up on Earl, but Office, Scrubs and 30 Rock is a great run of shows in a row. Loved this episode as well. The Phil Collins line killed me almost as much as the slogan about meat being the new bread.
