A refreshed and rejuvenated Michael returns from his Jamaican vacation with an interesting photograph which circulates around the office. Meanwhile an awkward moment arises when Pam is caught in the middle of an argument between Jim and Karen.

Finally, a night of new episodes!

Doughboy 01-04-07 08:34 AM

Nice to see it return with a new episode this soon.

CPA-ESQ. 01-04-07 08:49 AM

Yeahhh! something to watch tonight

lordwow 01-04-07 09:00 AM

I almost forgot about this tonight. Definately gives me something to look forward to tonight.

I rewatched a lot of Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD over my XMas break. My brother had never seen the show and finished the 2 seasons in 3 days.

Nesbit 01-04-07 09:03 AM

My new Dawight bobblehead is nodding in approval.

Agreed, but the rerun of the "Behinana Christmas" was certainly welcome!

They are going to have to "make with the repeats" hard after February sweeps new episodes if they expect to finish in May though...

Obey The D 01-04-07 07:37 PM

I'm chopping off Phyllis's head with a chainsaw! rotfl

SuperBatMan 01-04-07 07:38 PM

'How do I get you out of this picture?'

rotfl Leave it to Packer.

darkside 01-04-07 07:48 PM

Holy crap, that freaking braid in his hair is killing me.
Great episode so far.

stingermck 01-04-07 07:57 PM

Wow, I dont even know what to say. Very unexpected ep

SuperBatMan 01-04-07 07:58 PM

'So, you're PMSing pretty bad right now, aren't you?'

You knew something hilarious was coming, but I did not expect that.

There was a part I didn;'t really get.. Towards the middle of the episode, the black guy who runs the warehouse pulls out an ipod and speaker system and says something like "alright, i found it. this is going to be a great day"... what was he referring to? was it a call back to another episode?

BigPete 01-04-07 08:02 PM

Thank god I have a Tivo so I can pause this every 3 minutes. I can't watch that much humiliation non-stop without pulling all of my hair out.

Patman 01-04-07 08:07 PM

Fantastic episode tonight. Michael's slow walk up the steps was hilarious.

I think the Ipod harkened back to a Dirty Santa gift from the Christmas episode in 2005 (where Michael gave the temp Ryan a really expensive Ipod when everyone else was giving much cheaper gifts).

Miyazaki 01-04-07 08:15 PM

I don't think the iPod was a callback to anything really.

I just assumed it was something he had misplaced, upon finding it...well, it obviously made him happy. Cut to, Pam crying. I think it was just there to really drive home the fact that Pam really is in love with Jim and quite miserable about her situation at the moment.

That be said, if her and Roy get back together...just stay away from me, you've been warned.

lordwow 01-04-07 08:31 PM

I enjoyed the episode (except the whole Pam/Roy thing... yikes).

But there were some huge continuity issues I saw:
1) In the first talking head with Michael, there is like a beach out the window of his office.
2) Wasn't the entrance to the the Warehouse always on the opposite corner of the office? They kept going to where the elevator/exit is to go to warehouse this time.

HE Pennypacker 01-04-07 08:59 PM

So Angela is a vegetarian but is okay with killing a pig from a petting zoo? I guess her party planning committee takes priority over her vegetarian lifestyle.

I enjoyed the episode. My favorite part would probably have to be Michael telling Tobe "not now, not ever" in response to Tobe's request to talk. Tobe is quickly becoming my favorite character on the show. The way he sulks around the office and his constant depressive mood is hilarious to me. Poor guy, Michael simply hates him.

Sex Fiend 01-04-07 09:29 PM

I thought it was a just okay episode overall. Some funny stuff, but some stuff fell kind of flat for me.

Good stuff: Michael's 'accidental' spilling of the beans about him and Jan, Packer (always hilarious), another Michael scene with Daryl (always hilarious), a few little tweaks in the Pam/Jim story, a few other isolated funny moments.

'Meh' stuff: opening meeting scene, the whole luau part which didn't seem to really pay off after such a long setup, the Jim/Karen argument which seemed underdeveloped, and (especially) the revelation of Jan being "nuts" about Michael, which kind of strains credulity in my opinion.

Snowmaker 01-04-07 09:36 PM

I just couldn't really get into this episode. I almost wanted it to hurry and be over so I could get to Scrubs.

Seems perfectly reasonable in my opinion. She's extremely messed up, and he's available and uncomplicated.

GoldenJCJ 01-04-07 09:51 PM

I got the feeling that Jan hadn't seen the email when she visited Michael.

I'm not sure why Pam doesn't tell Jim. she couldn't admit her feelings for him before because of Roy but why can't she tell him how? IMO, Karen's not that big of an obstacle.

Because why resolve that thread? I'm sure they're hoping for five seasons of this at least.

Maybe I could see Jan having some perverse sublimated attraction to Michael that she wouldn't publicly admit (as has heretofore been the case). But I don't see someone so apparently concerned with her career and overall image as a successful corporate exec being as wreckless as to get seriously and even somewhat openly involved with a poorly socialized/immature doofus like Michael, who one way or another is bound to jeopardize her standing within the company. Even with her apparent neuroses, it seems out of character and a bit too convenient for the sake of the inevitable plot complications.
