Yeah i remember Adam. Yeah it was played by Adam Arkin. He lived in the woods with his wife, who was a hypocondriac.

He was engaged to the hot waitress chick, the bar owner and his best friend stole her from him. I do not remember all of the story on Adam, but he was more than some wilderness recluse.

I tried IMDB of course, but it's not like they give you their character arc!

This is not adding any useful information, but the Adam & Eve episodes were always some of the best. And Adam Arkin reminded us so much of his father, the great Alan Arkin. Wasn't there another Arkin son who was also an actor?

Adam (played by Adam Arkin) was a mysterious mountain man, who was a sort of Bigfoot around Cicily.
In one of those whimsical Northern Exposure twists, Adam actually turned out to be an erudite, world-class chef.
Later on, it was revealed or suggested that Adam had also been a CIA agent.

Former astronaut Maurice Minnifield was the richest man in Cicily, who owned lots of undeveloped Alaskan land.
Maurice was supposed to married young beauty queen Shelly, but upon her arrival in Cicily, she fell in love with Holling, the owner of the town tavern.
