Doctor Who Series 1 & 2 Discussion
Okay, with season 2 having finished in the US now, I'd like to borach something and see what others think. Spoilers if you haven't seen through season 2...
Eccleston was my first real Doctor, so I have a fondness for him. I think he was almost a more complete Doctor than Tennant is, but I still enjoy Tennant very much. Having said that, I feel like we have been cheated for one reason: Rose.
Rose has been the only major consistency between season 1 and season 2. We have seen her interact with two Doctors, but I haven't seen how her relationship would have developed with Ecclestons Doctor through the events of season 2 and vice versa for Tennant and the events of season 1. I suppose you could argue that the answer is really "yes" since it's "The Doctor", but I think you know what I'm talking about. And yet again, as we enter season 3 there will be a new companion while we enter Tennant's third year. And if old vs new Who is any benchmark, next year could be his last (I'm basing this on episode lengths).
That's about it for now. I do have somre thoughts questions, but I'll save those for when I'm less tired.

No offense, but I don't understand what your point is regarding Rose. Or maybe I do a little bit. I'm not a fan of the quasi-romantic relationship between Rose and The Doctor. The switch to Tennant threw a monkey wrench into an already ill defined relationship. Throw in whatever the hell was up with Mickey, Sara Jane, and Madame De Pompadour over the course of Season two and in the end I have no idea where Rose and Tennant's Doctor stand by the end of it all. I think keeping Eccelston would have at least kept the relationship from falling apart as much, even if it was a bit ill defined.
Also, Tennant is under contract for at least one more season after the next.
