Howard Stern "On Demand" - what's the content?

Apparently its $13.00 per month, but once you subscribe to it, what can you expect?

If I press "B" on my remote control to subscribe, does a selection of shows come up, or does a show just arbituarily begin? Say I subscribe today, watch a little, then tune in on Tuesday, what comes up then?

I'm in the dark, so before I throw down thirteen lousy dollars, I want to know what to expect. thanks.

Yep, kind of like how the movie studios 'screw' us by making us pay upwards of $10 to see a single film in a theater or a nice resturant 'screws' us by making us pay top dollar for a nice meal.

Anyway, to get back on topic, and away from the threadcrapping --- I don't have cable, I have satellite so I can't get "In Demand", but from what I hear on the Sirius show, it's an ever-changing menu of programming. For the monthly fee, you can watch whatever you want from the menu whenever you want, as many times as you want. On Sirius, they're constantly talking about throwing up new bits, so it sounds as if it stays pretty fresh.

Considering the content has jumped exponentially (addition of all the old E shows), who cares? You are likely just an O&A troll anyway.

You missed out on the penny preview last month.

The channel is like the old E! shows, but completely uncensored and they can get away with more at Sirius, so there is a LOT more to see.

Plus they now have exclusive programming and specials and such.

It was always $13 for me. I got for a few months. It was cool, but I didn't watch it enough to justify it.

It was like a menu of 30-minute or so shows. Full nudity included.

Ummm....I just checked my HSOD and it's $9.99.

However, i'd be disappointed that there's an average of only 44 minutes shown out of the daily show..

I've been DVR'ing the 30-minute weekly recap shown every weekend on INHD. It's entertaining, but I don't know if I could justify adding even more to my already insane cable bill.

Their are different categories that you can choose from: Daily Shows, Weekly re-caps, Girls, Sexy Games, etc.
Each category has between 5-15 different shows you can pick. Some are new and some are old but all are uncensored so you get the nudity and cursing. The shows run all different times from 15 minutes up to 2 hours.

In September they are the 9/11/01 & 9/12/01 shows and added some stuff at the end with Doug. He had gone to the site on 9/11/01 to help and took pictures. They had him walking the same route in 2006 and talking about each picture and what they saw on 9/11/01.

I had it for about 2 months but the picture kept breaking up or freezing so I canceled it. I recorded over 50 DVDs of shows so I guess I got my money's worth. Here's an example of what was on in Sept. & Oct. (volume numbers are just how I labeled my DVDs and have nothing to do with the content or how it is shown).

My favorite part of the Howard Stern show, when he was on 92.3, was when he did the news with Robin at the end of the program. It was a segment I always managed to miss because I was already at work by that point, and the only times I did hear it was if I was on vacation.

Is the "news" part of the selection?

I'm going to add this in a few weeks. I'll try it for a month and see how I like. I miss Stern on CBS, so I could really go for this. I thought the penny preview was decent.

Approx. 40-50 shows are added each month (about 700 total so far). Only 50 or so are available at any given time. Here's what's on the system now:

http://www.indemand.com/HSOD/thismonth.jsp

The news segments have yet to made available

Prices vary depending on your cable co. For most, the introductory price was $9.99, then after three months it was $12.99. About the same as you would pay for HBO or Showtime.
