Wow, that was far and away the best episode of this season in my opinion. They got back much of their Season Two mojo tonight - more of the low key, character-based comedy and far less of the forced 'zaniness' that they have been relying on for laughs this season. I even liked Andy in this episode, and I normally find him a bit annoying. I hope this is a sign of what's to come the rest of Season Three.
And they definitely switched up the actresses playing the waitresses somewhere, or they were intended to be different characters. Perhaps that is explained in the inevitable deleted scenes that show up online/DVD. Well, I hope so anyway because it was pretty blatant and mystifying.

Kevin's reaction to Toby touching his robe was great
I liked the scene at Bennihana where they had the close-up of Michael and Andy and you can hear Dwight off the side "Carol had a mustache?"

As was Jim messing with Dwight about what Michael and the waitress was talking about and Dwight goes into how to kill a goose.

Good episode. It didn't have quite the same holiday feel that the Christmas ep. did last year but it was still very good.
The look on Jim's face when he saw Pam talking to Karen was priceless.
Ryan: "I miss the days when there was only one Christmas party I didn't want to go to."

I think the episode started out so raw with Michael getting dumped, but once they get to Benihana's, the episode picked up steam and brought it home well enough.
Enjoyed Pam and Karen bonding over crushing Angela's Nutcracker-themed party, plus everytime they cut to Angela's party, I chuckled at the music being played in the background in contrast to Angela's misery.
Pam and Jim messing with Dwigt was a welcomed gag, didn't realized how much I missed them until we got one tonight.

I was so glad to see Toby get some love at the end. I feel so bad for the guy constantly getting it from Michael, it was nice to see something good finally happen to the guy.

You're right, it was Packer he invited. Also, the Oscar cameo was great. Not sure why he showed up at that point in the day with his "partner". It would have been great to see Michael greet them and make some comment to his partner trying to clue him in that Oscar was really gay.

By the way, I've been missing seeing the hottie corporate boss known as "Jan" on the show for most of season 3. They need to write her character back into the office circus.

We had a huge rain/wind storm hit Oregon tonight. We didn't lose our power, but our cable was out However, I checked the TiVo listings and it looks like they are repeating this episode next Thursday, starting at 9PM

Great episode. Rashida looked so hot and anything with her is gold. I hate Toby though, he just seems like too much of a drag. I hate people like that in real life so hating that character isnt a stretch.
The hoe bit and magic marker had me in stitches...
but
I COULDNT stop laughing when he insults that woman with glasses saying something about people not coming to her party or wanting to, then he hurts her feelings and has this huge satisfied smile for bieng a dick. Then he gives a quick look to the camera. Am I the only one who saw and really enjoyed this? Ramis did a great job. I cant wait till the DVDs!

My first thought was that he invited his mom as well. Jan seemed a little too obvious to me. Hadn't thought about Todd Packer! I guess we'll find out next week. Or is that next year?
