Agreed. It was a borderline bully move by Yul, but at this point in the game he is aware how much the other players respect/fear him. May as well use that to his advantage. If it meant Adam backing off of Ozzy for now, then good move on Yul's part.

However, Yul did screw up by playing both Adam and Parvati. They'll both be on the jury soon and there's no question they'll realize Yul assured both would be safe from tribal council. He was also a little too overt with the hat.

Pulling for either Yul or Ozzy to win, but Ozzy is a lock if he's final two because of his relationship with the ousted tribe members.

GatorDeb 12-15-06 08:55 AM

I thought Ozzy had made a dumb move but reconsidered. Becky/Yul or Parvati/Adam would have voted him out as soon as he loses a challenge if he voted Sundra out (Parvati would have smoked Sundra in a tie-breaker).

I think the preview of Ozzy falling is just Ozzy letting go as part of the challenge. I don't think he slips off.

Awesome season.

cdollaz 12-15-06 09:03 AM

I think Adam will win if he is one of the finalists, even against Ozzy.

I think his lounging in the shelter with his harem while the others brought him food and fire should negate this.

Colby in season 2 comes to my mind.

Nope. His former tribemates on the jury seem to like him.

Patman 12-15-06 09:45 AM

If Adam can win immunity twice and get into the final tribal council, he'll win (and Ozzy won't be in the final TC if that's the case). There is no way he won't win due to the numbers on the jury. That's a big hypothetical situation.

Even the ones he voted off?

Yep. Other than the bitchy, piss-faced Asian one (can't remember her name) and Jonathon, I think the rest of them like him.

Because the move made Yul seem like a bit of a bully and dick, regardless of whether it was a good move or not (which it was, since it seemed to work). Though Adumb could have the last laugh ...

Spoiler:
if the Yul-father turns on Ozzy next, figuring there's 2 more immunity challenges to pick off Adumb. But as we suspect, there's only going to be one more with a Final 3 instead of a Final 2. If the jury has to choose between Yul, Becky, and Adumb I wouldn't be surprised if those nitwits go for Adumb.

Well, I hate to be the contradictory type, but I don't see why some of you are so hateful towards Parvati. I thought she was damned cute (okay, she's no Misty, but who is?), and didn't do a bad job playing the game. She ended up about right where she deserved in the finish.

It hardly seems fair that I should get the 2, when I've been a loyal and beloved member for 5+ years and Ozzy doesn't even know what dvdtalk is.

:sarcasm: How do YOU know? Maybe Ozzy is a loyal DVDTalker and that's why he knows the game so well. Maybe Ozzy is BANDOMAN, huh, whaddya think about THAT idea? -ohbfrank-

 Yes exactly, and that's why I'm rooting for him to win. He's just winning, mostly laying low, not trying to run everything like some previous season's strong players, but keeping his hand in every decision. I think he's an awesome player.

 Yeah, we noticed that too! I was like, "ENOUGH with the hat already!", who cares??

Overall, good episode, though of course not nearly as suspenseful as they try to make it look in the previews. I knew Ozzy wouldn't turn on his team, not when he was the one who was the angriest when Candace and Jonathan mutinied (Remember his shouting after that first challenge?). Thank GOD that Poverty/Parity/Poopyface is gone, blech.

She was cute from the neck on down.

Sundra is getting hotter all the time.

devilshalo 12-15-06 12:49 PM

I guess voting Parvati over Adam eliminates a women alliance. Not that it would have mattered until people have to realise they should have challeneged Yul and the idol.

I'm just wondering if Yul wins immunity, does he keep it for himself even though he holds owns an idol? Or does he save someone from being voted off?

Why is it that not one person--ESPECIALLY YUL--pointed out the fact that he put the hat down BEFORE the jury came out. But for Jeff trying to throw a wrench into the game, nobody had to know it was Yul. In all my years of Survivor watching, this was the single biggest annoyance. Bad enough that Jeff had to bring it up. Worse that nobody called him on it.

They probably did and it was conveniently edited out.

I totally agree. Jeff is interjecting himself so much into the game that he could affect some outcomes based on what he says or doesn't say. Based on his past of dating a former contestant and hating others (Johnny Fairplay), it reeks of playing favorites. His play by play of the challenges is also annoying and led to people changing tactics i.e. shouting out that Jonathon's wife was wringing water off her shirt in the rewards challenges led others to do the same. Just count the damn votes Jeff and STFU.

I hope Ozzy wins this and they vote off Adam ASAP.

hahn 12-15-06 01:22 PM

I think the one thing that Yul is messing up is that he talks too much. Not in a yakkety-yak kind of way. But that he talks about how the jury would perceive him. That comes across as manipulative even if it's just strategy that all of them are (or at least SHOULD be) thinking.

If Ozzy messes up even ONE immunity contest, he's a goner. I think he knows that too. And I believe we're coming up on some puzzle/trivia type IC's which is his relative weakness.

dadaluholla 12-15-06 01:41 PM

How many food rewards have there been this season? It seems like this has been one of the most well fed groups ever.

I agree.

How long before Yul can't use the Idol anymore ?

Plus Ozzy always bringing back a ton of fish to eat.

creekdipper 12-15-06 03:26 PM

1) This has been a well-fed group. It leads me to believe that the producers are making sure they have enough to eat because (1) Enough people complained about the early seasons when the finalists basically nearly starved to death (especially second season); (2) They were concerned that the contestants would be so weak that the challenges would be less competetive; (3) Least likely...they were concerned that someone might either die due to heart attack, etc. or would end up sueing them.
(2) Glad Parvati is gone so people will stop ripping on her. She was a cutie...no real beauty but made the most of what she had (great athletic body...not like the droopy, anoerexic Peanut Butter Girls who dropped their drawers a few seasons back. If you want to call somebody Horse Teeth, why not Adam? He's always flashing those huge choppers at Candance or anybody who will notice him. Didn't want Parvati to win...too manipulative & lazy around camp...but she did compete well in the challenges (my wife called her a "tough little cookie"). I liked her a whole lot better than Adam, who can be a bully (want to puke every time he & Candace exchange their little looks, but producers play it for all its worth) ..but I agree with the vote (Parvati was a much greater immunity challenge threat unless Adam was smart enough to look even clumsier & inept than usual...which I doubt he is smart enough to think of). To those who kept calling Parvati "Teeth", etc....I would bet that she is better-looking (body AND face) than 90% of the "significant others" of her detractors. And calling her UGLY?? That's just so wrong...sounds like envy to me. Having said all that, she didn't win a lot of points by her immature "I just peed in my pants...except I'm not wearing any pants" statement. Bet Ole Dad is proud of that! Now she can go back to packing those boxes or whatever she does.
(3) Jeff's comments about the hat were asinine. As has been pointed out, nobody needed to know who brought the hat. And then he kept on making such a big deal about it & refused to let it go. One of the stupidest Tribal Council chats ever...will forever be known as "The Hat Trick". Also agree regarding Jeff's hatred of "Johnny Fairplay" (who was one of the most interesting contestants ever...poor schmuck seemed genuinely confused & hurt when audience booed him lustily at the Reunion Finale). As for Jeff's dating a contestant, i guess that was after the fact...and she was a sultry young lass. Hard to blame Jeff for raking in the spoils. BTW...what ever became of that romance? Did she get sent to Exile (or voted off Jeff's "island"?). Or did she get what she wanted out of the deal & move on?
(4) After Adam, time for Becky to go. She has ridden Yul's coattails the whole game & is lobbying to stab Ozzy in the back. She really lives up to the stereotype of an ambulance-chasing attorney. Unlike Sundra, who tries hard but can't always meet the physical challenges, Becky is just plain mean.

Go Ozzy! Was originally pulling for Yul but tired of his over-analysis of every raindrop that falls. Give it a break..."The Brain" is likely to implode if he doesn't lighten up. Noticed that, after catching Ozzy, he had trouble getting his puzzle maze together. Looks as if Dolphin Boy is holding up better under stress...IMHO, he is the most deserving to win.

Jim 12-15-06 03:54 PM

Good post creekdipper. Agree with a lot of it, but not all. My favorite line, something I've almost posted:
