Prison Break Star "Tweener" in Deadly Car Crash

http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20061203/..._garrison_dc_1

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actor Lane Garrison of the popular U.S. television show "Prison Break" was in a car accident late on Saturday that killed a 17-year-old boy and injured two other teenagers, Beverly Hills police said on Sunday.

Garrison, 26, was inside his sport utility vehicle when it crashed into a tree in Beverly Hills at about 11:50 p.m. local time, Sergeant Shan Davis said, adding that police were still investigating which of the car's four occupants was driving and what caused the collision.

Garrison received minor injuries, but a 17-year-old boy was pronounced dead at Cedars Sinai Medical Center following the accident. Two 15-year-old girls were also injured, one critically.

Garrison plays "Tweener" on the Fox jailhouse drama "Prison Break." Fox is a unit of News Corp.

Sounds like another question may be what was he doing with 2 15-year-old girls?

RichC2 12-04-06 08:11 AM

They were probably friends with the 17 year old guy.

cdollaz 12-04-06 08:18 AM

OK, then what was he doing hanging out with a 17 year-old?

Groucho 12-04-06 08:56 AM

Since we don't know the relationships of anybody in the car, it's possible that some or all of the kids in the car were his relatives.

DRG 12-04-06 08:59 AM

They were probably out stealing baseball cards.

It won't be too long until he appears in his next TV series-"Dateline's To Catch a Predator".

Don't they mean "played"? I thought Special Agent Alexander Mahone killed him out in the middle of nowhere claiming he tried to "escape" during transport (episode 7 "Buried").

I think they were trying to avoid spoilers for those who haven't seen the show/season.

I think it's actually their subtle way of implying he's going to come back as a wise cracking ghost that buddies up with Linc and Michael, and hilarity ensues!

RichC2 12-05-06 09:02 AM

Whoa! That'll be fan-friggin-tastic, can we say "spin-off"?

nazz 12-05-06 09:13 AM

Isn't it odd that they're still investigating who was driving when he was not seriously injured? I'm sure he gave some version of what happened but it sounds like they may not believe him.

But would Reuters actually care? Facts are facts.

Prison Break actor Lane Garrison may have been intoxicated when he was involved in a car accident late Saturday night that killed a 17-year-old boy. Garrison, who plays Tweener on the hit TV series, was driving his 2001 Land Rover Sports Utility Vehicle with three teenagers when the accident occurred. The 26-year-old actor reportedly struck a center median while driving in Beverly Hills and lost control of the vehicle, which ended up hitting a tree at 11:52 pm. A 17-year-old male passenger was killed in the accident and his identity has not been released. Two 15-year-old girls were also injured in the crash. One has been released and one is in serious condition at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Beverly Hills Police said at a press conference Monday that the star "displayed symptoms of alcohol intoxication" after being involved in the fatal car crash. No charges have been filed yet, but investigators have confirmed that they removed alcohol containers from the SUV, which was registered to the actor. A police source adds, "The investigation into Mr. Garrison's impairment is ongoing."

If that actually happened, it would be the most realistic episode of Prison Break to date.

cdollaz 12-05-06 12:53 PM

I wonder if he will spend the $ he made on Prison Break before those teen's families sue the hell out of him.

DRG 12-05-06 02:57 PM

So basically this is the Lost phenomenon in reverse?

There is an important development in the Lane Garrison case. The Beverly Hills police will conduct a news conference at 4:00 PM today. TMZ has now learned the police have sent the Garrison case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney for possible criminal prosecution. The D.A. must now decide whether to prosecute the "Prison Break" star for felony vehicular manslaughter.

Garrison's blood alcohol level has now been determined. Sources tell TMZ the actor's blood alcohol level was "high."

Garrison was behind the wheel when his Land Rover crashed into a tree in Beverly Hills on December 2, killing 17-year-old Vahagn Setian.

As TMZ first reported, Garrison met Setian and two 15-year-old girls hours before the crash. The teens invited the actor to a party. People who attended the party tell TMZ they saw Garrison drink between four and seven shots of Grey Goose vodka in a short period of time.

Garrison's high-powered celebrity defense lawyer, Harland Braun, tells TMZ his client was heading back to his apartment when the crash occurred.

Dumbass. He deserves to serve a long time in jail. Hopefully he will.

Dr. Henry Jones, Jr. 01-31-07 03:45 PM

I bet he won't get sued for $50 million.

Deftones 01-31-07 03:49 PM

At least he can use all his experience from Prison Break in real life.

cdollaz 01-31-07 03:51 PM

He'd better hope life doesn't imitate art or he's gonna be holding some dude's pocket the first day he gets there.

Actor Garrison pleads guilty in drink driving death
2 hours, 50 minutes ago

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Actor Lane Garrison, who played an inmate on the TV drama "Prison Break," pleaded guilty on Monday to vehicular manslaughter and drunken driving for a car crash in December that killed a 17-year-old student.

Garrison, 26, was driving a Land Rover that crashed into a tree in Beverly Hills injuring two 15-year-old girl passengers and killing 17-year-old passenger Vahagn Setian. He had met the teens at a store and was on his way to a party with them when the accident occurred.

Prosecutors said Garrison had a blood alcohol level nearly twice California's legal limit and was also under the influence of cocaine. He also pleaded guilty to providing alcohol to a minor.

Garrison faces a maximum sentence of 6 years, 8 months in prison when he returns to court for sentencing on August 2.

His lawyer told reporters earlier this month that Garrison would accept responsibility for his conduct.

Garrison's "Prison Break" character David "Tweener" Apolskis was killed off the Fox TV drama earlier this season. The Dallas native's other credits include the 2006 film "Crazy" and this year's" Shooter"
