Show Me the Money - new game show w/William Shatner - 11/14/06
This new game show starts tonight before moving into its regular Wednesday night slot.
Two of my favorite guilty pleasures are game shows and Bill Shatner, so bring it on!
It is on for 90 minutes tonight, starting at 9:30 eastern.

Very hip and cool to use a catch phrase from ten years ago.
Is this the show they're promoting with Kirk dancing around and the word "Shat-tastic!" appears at the bottom of the screen?

It's on ABC. I guess Cuba Gooding Jr. had too much self-respect to do it. (ahem, Snow Dogs.)
If this is a hit, Regis is going to be jealous.

Do we really need another game show?
Does Shatner really need another pay check from ABC?

I'm not sure I understand the anti-game show bias, though it does sort of suck that they're all virtually interchangeable Endemol concepts. Really, shouldn't this be called 1 vs. No Deal?
Why not bring us a quality, proven game show? With the right casting and just the right creative talent behind it, a one hour once a week Match Game could be great. A new version of What's My Line? could even work with the right talent there.

Oh wow, this show sucks. Bail out, Shat!
The dancers are just an obvious rip-off of Deal of No Deal, it takes them like 5 minutes to do one question, the questions are easy and they can skip up to two of them, they don't lose every much even if they do get one wrong, and it just drags on for.......ever.

Jesus Christ this show is a trainwreck. Too slow, the questions are too easy and they are stealing bits and pieces from other gameshows. I was hoping it would be cancelled during the commercial.
I suppose I could always change the channel, but morbid curiosity compels me to watch.

Seriously, I think this is the worst game show I've ever seen. It's even worse than that one where you had to answer questions while getting electrocuted and frozen.

This show reminded me of the episode of Friends, where Joey was hosting a game show, and Ross and Chandler helped him through it, and they basically made up the rules as they went along.
And seriously, what is the purpose of the dancing?
Pure cheese...

i.e.
originally:"If you get the death card, you're out."
later:"If you get the death card, and you answered wrong, you're out."
still later:"If you get the death card, and you answered wrong, you get one more question which you have to answer and if you get that wrong, you're out."
It seemed like they were bending the rules so "Mr Top Gun" could win something, after giving 590K to that raging queen.

^^ I noticed that too. I couldn't tell if Shatner jsut wasn't elaborating on the rules very well or if they were just making them up as they went. I remember thinking to myself, "gee, I hope this guy gets the death card just so I can see what actually happens."
Not only did it look like Shat was reading the rules for the first time but it looked like he had never seen any of the questions before either. I had finished reading each question while Shatner was still turned up looking at the screen trying to pronounce words.
