Hi, and welcome! http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...roder/wave.gif
I've never seen either show, but this should probably be in TV Talk. Rob |
I've never seem Grey's Anatomy, but I like House quite a bit. Although every episode is mainly about curing sick people there are some side plots that are quite interesting. Plus I find it amazing how Hugh Laurey can hide is British accent.

Grey's Anatomy is too mushy, so I cast my vote for House. Hugh Laurie is absolutely awesome, and the rest of the cast is awesome as well (I love Cuddy's antagonism with House)
|
House hands down. I'm sorry, but I do not enjoy Grey's Anatomy. To me, it seems like the show tries to combine the realistic nature of E.R. with the comedy of Scrubs, and just fails somewhere in the middle.
Then again, that's just one man's opinion. |
Gotta go with House. Grey's Anatomy had the far better start, as a legitimate drama with compelling characters and stories, but like most of these shows, it quickly devolved into a cheesy and manipulative who's-screwing-whom primetime soap where you just stop caring about anyone on the show. House, on the other hand, is very straightfoward. Every episode is the same, and you always know where you stand. Typically this is a negative, but the wildly misanthropic House character is so entertaining, and the production values are so strong, that it overshadows the formulaic nature of the series.
When I go through my TiVo, I find I look forward to episodes of House. I can just turn my brain off and enjoy the inappropriate one-liners. I've grown to dread watching Grey's, which is really unfortunate because it started with such incredible potential. das |
House by far. Grey's is ok, but I never found it particularly appealing enough to feel the need to have to watch it every week.
|
House.
Grey's Anatomy has turned into a chick show. |
I've tried to watch Grey's a few times, but I just don't like it. On the other hand, House is one of the best medical dramas I've seen. Probably second best after the early seasons of ER.
|
The first 6 episodes of GA was much more of a chick show than it is now. Since last years superbowl shower scene they have deliberately changed the format to make it more appealing to men. Didn't work.
The House formula is executed so well that it is easy to overlook its predictability. The performances are some of the best on television. Especially Wilson, who should win an emmy for his work in recent weeks. Hugh Laurie is brilliant as House. Gotta go with house. PS. There is a Television MySpace group with this very same topic. Coincidence? |
I love House, seriously. When it was first advertised I thought it looked kinda stupid. But after catching some episodes it really is an amazing show.
|
I find House to be one of the most annoying characters on television. The rest of the cast isnt much better. Its also very lame premise in general. I'll take Greys Anatomy any day of the week.

3 lbs.?

House is a million times better. It's like comparing a filet mignon to a Big Mac.
|
House. Grey's Anatomy is just so ridiculously mushy, it's borderline unbearable at times.
House has me laughing harder than any live-action sitcom and more compelled than 99% of the dramas out there, great mix. Not to say Grey's is a terrible show, it's occasionally interesting and has pretty solid acting. |
House is a medical procedural that is centered on one character. The episodes mostly stand alone, although there are some minor continuity arcs.
Grey's Anatomy is a serial romantic tragicomedy with a medical setting and an ensemble cast. The two should could hardly be more different, and their medical settings are an unimportant and largely irrelevant coincidence. Comparing these two shows is like comparing, say, Knot's Landing and Jericho because they're both named after towns. RichC (who likes them both for entirely different reasons) |
Grey's Anatomy generally feels like it was all done before but I don't remember on what program. House is a great original.
|
Both :D No need to choose in this day and age.
|
I have the same opinion as Das. House is a fairly repetitive show, but it's also very enjoyable.
Grey's Anatomy hasn't ever grabbed my attention. |

I liked Grey's Anatomy in the beginning, but they seemed to be like CSI (vegas) has become. The actors get too full of themselves and try to go beyond the show, if that makes any sense. |

And I don't mind the "repetitiveness" of House one bit. It's not often but a very few shows work with a "formula." Columbo was one, House is another. If I don't see a seizure about midway through the show after they think they've found the cure I'm disappointed. :) They should just retire the Emmy and give it to Hugh Laurie every year. Yet he hasn't ever won it and last year he wasn't even nominated. |
House without a doubt. Yeah it's a bit formulaic, but the acting and side-stories make it phenomenal. House's constant battle with addiction is his constant pushing away of people who care about him is riviting to watch.
I'll paraphrase what someone else said a while ago, I think it was on this forum. 'Grey's Anatomy is the 90210 of medical dramas' |
Grey's would be better if they'd stop shilling crappy pop music during every scene.
|
I watch both, but gun to my head I'd pick House easily.
