"It's my first day!"

Oh, wait. Thats from the first time Homer joined the military and did a war game.

I didn't even like the movie trailer.

Ok Simpsons writers, you hate the Iraq war. We got it from last week's Halloween episode (which was, incidentally, when Family Guy aired their "join the army" story).

Regardless of politics, this ep was a fucking hackneyed mess. It's like they've abandoned all pretense of being funny anymore. And the trailer sucked.

I remember when The Simpsons relished in taking shots at all sides instead of harping on one thing over and over.

Decent episode... horrible trailer. The 'rock and a hard place' gave me somewhat of a chuckle, but you shouuldn't base a whole trailer off of that. It didn't seem like footage from the movie... have they even started yet?

I also had no idea that was Keiffer untill the end of the episode... random appearance. At least he wasn't playing himself.

Hardly a trailer. Used to call those "teasers" back in my day...

I was at Home Dépot last night and happened to pass by their plasma TV playing what I thought was a new Simpsons episode. As I thought "Yup, this show is still horrible." the info came up for the movie. Damn, I was really hoping the movie would step up from what the show is nowadays but if that's how they're advertising it, I better not risk giving it a chance.

"Trailer" was weak - but the episode was good. I liked the drone sequence - kind of a throw back to old cartoons

I agree that this was a weak episode, although the Looney Tunes homage was OK. I also agree about the trailer being pretty pointless.

I knew it was him, but if I didn't know he was in the episode I would not have known it by the character's voice. Sounded different.

Yea, that was a teaser, not a trailer. Even then, it was pretty lame.

The drone chasing Homer was pretty funny.

I liked the first half of the episode, but the second half suffered from drag-on syndrome.

Did anyone else think the title was a miscommunication and was supposed to be G.I. D'Oh!

During the end credits, the drill instructor anounces "INFANTRY" after each name pops up. Then he says "COAST GUARD" when Kiefer Sutherlands name comes up, then he says something else when Danny Elfman's name comes up. What did he say?

That's what the writer's put in the scripts to represent "d'oh."

Another ep title: "Supercalifragilisticexpiala(annoyed grunt)cious"
Yeah, I'm a speller.

Exactly. I've generally been more positive about the later seasons than most fans, but I don't think I laughed once during this one. I hate to say it, but....

First segment was decent (army commercial spoof was pretty good) and got my hopes up, but the rest was just atrocious. I hated the drone sequence; I don't want to see stuff like that on The Simpsons, but I guess the current producers do, so tough titties for me. Anyway, if you can't get a laugh out of a Ralph appearance, just tear up your script and shoot yourself.

By the way, why should the show "take shots at all sides"? So that particularly sensitive viewers don't have their feelings bruised?
