'PRACTICAL MAGIC casting a spell on the small screen'

I havn't been able to find any online evidence to support this, but on E! new's flash this afternoon there was a small sentence stating "Gilmore Girls's creator Amy Sherman-Palladino is developing a small-screen version of the feature film/novel 'Practical Magic' for HBO."

Has anyone else heard anything on this?

Wow, I hope not. That movie was terrible.

Wasn't it called "Charmed" on the WB a few years back?

Not really... nothing against 'charmed' and all, but PRACTICAL MAGIC was darker and was a lot more of a multi-generational family drama...

Was that some sort of Berrymore, Kidman and somebody else movie about 7 years ago? Can't seem to remember, but whatever it was obviously it wasn't that memorable. :)

You're right that the movie was terrible. But then again, how many people were thinking the same thing when a little show called Buffy the Vampire Slayer was getting ready to hit the airwaves?

Oh, and it was a 1998 film with Kidman, Sandra Bullock, Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest.

Now I loved Practical Magic.(have it on vhs) And I do enjoy watching the show Charmed from time to time. But I say leave the original Practical Magic alone.

Yeah... it went from HBO to ABC and the producers and a bunch of the cast changed... and obviously it didn't get picked up :P... Too bad, could have been good too.
